  1. I heard he's giving up the "C" because he prefers the "A". A little shout out to a philly.com poster who posted this at the end of the article. Had a good laugh at that one!
  2. Someone who's never been in my kitchen
  3. I just keep thinking...thank god we Don't have the Russian. If I was Homer. I would be shrewd come contract time. No long term good money deal for him. Comparetively he's better then what we've been used to seeing (As of recent). I do have my reservations though. Actually I'm starting to enjoy watching these games again. Bryz sucked the life right out of me. Side note... Has anyone seen Connor mcdavid play? Is he going to be real deal? You see where I'm going with this....is it worth it?
  4. JVR trade. Really disappointing. Matter a fact. I can't stand the "Schenners". I consider myself a patient fellow, but those Schenn brothers are really testing my patiences. Especially B. Schenn.
  5. @ron That's borderline rebuilding thinking. And I think that's the thinking we need for this team. Don't get me wrong, I like a lot a guys on this team, but something stinks in this locker room.
  6. If a season is six games long, then I'm in for another year...otherwise, lets move on.
  7. @ flyercanuck I guess it was a googleable offense. I was thinking of something different. I was thinking it was an old men's league team because I used to see banners (in my younger years) up at some old rinks I used to play in. Maybe it was different team name I was thinking of. But I think the banners were black silver or black red something like that. Thought they were some kind of semi pro or traveling team, anywho... Googled it, sure enough there's the emblem. Interesting read, did not know Bernie played for the blazers. What a brief time in philly they had. Also looked up WHA history, that's an interesting read too. I knew players came from that league (Gretzky, Messier) but didn't know 4 teams were absorbed. Always thought that league disbanded and there was a draft for WHA players into NHL. Both were a little before my time. Side note: NHL really boned those franchises coming in! Anybody know why Bernie jump ship for that one season? Money?
  8. @ bertmega Agreed. But lets face it, who really wants to explain that to their wife. Nag nag nag... Blazers still around?
  9. @ flyercanuck Ha ha...I was thinking same thing. Some how I think there was some context removed from that discussion with the police officer too.
  10. @ Murraycraven Life's not love and roses all the time, right? We'll have disagreements and arguments like brothers. I am not a sensitive person by nature. Which can be a positive and negative attribute. I do not take myself seriously ( only my work), however I assume others are the same. So sometimes I can get taken out of context, or sometimes I just rub someone the wrong way...such is life. Now back to hockey. I will never concede on carle. Certain players over the years I have disdain for...and he is one of them. Just flat out do not like his game, period. So I do not think he would have helped last year ( assuming no injuries). And I would never measure carle up against a weber type player either. Aziz mentioned weber in a retort, which I thought was slightly off base, because he compared weber and chara negative attributes against carle's, while leaving out their positive attributes to make his point. Generally, that's why I'm not a huge fan of statistics and do not get into debates over them. They can be skewed and slanted in any which way. I look at player, I watch his game, I don't care how many goals he scores how many assists he has, how many hits, fights etc... If I like how he plays, I like him. That's why I enjoy reading posts describing a players game that I haven't seen play ( a la junior players). I like the point of view. Regarding POV on carle...lets agree to disagree. @ jammer That's an optimistic view on Gus, and not far fetched. However, I fear injuries throughout his career may side track his game. Hopefully not, but I like his game (I'm not sure of all star level though).
  11. Great, it's settled. You take Carle and his hollow stats, and I'll take weber or chara's turnovers, with the other attributes that come along with it.
  12. @ polaris922 Disagree, carle was not a "puck mover" d man. he has no category IMO. Granted I only watched Letang about 30 times over the years, but that's comparing apples to oranges. Yes, point per game d man, I can look away with certain deficiencies. But that's a rare breed. Streit I can't speak about yet, haven't looked closely at his game (played well against us a few times), but we'll see if his positives out way the negatives.
