  1. I think it comes down to Nashville being an "unsexy" hockey market. That area is college football all the way. Even the Titans are second imo. Suter goes to Minnesota that is a big time hockey town, and Weber wants to go to Philly which is a hockey crazed city as well. So even though Nashville is on the rise and is doing better, it doesnt have that hockey city glamour to it. So i think more then money, that is why Suter and Weber opted to take their talents elsewhere. And since one of them came here...screw it i am happy. But i see what you mean with the prima donna references lol
  2. AJGOAL broke it down pretty good that if they shipped out Voracheck and MAB they would have the flexibility to sign Doan.
  3. I would guess it would be two picks for two players. That way Nashville isnt totally sold short and the Flyers can still have future talent to develop. Radoran is probably right that maybe pursuing Doan is unrelated. But it helps if the Flyers have to give up a few forwards to ensure that Weber ends up here.
  4. More along the lines of an agreement where Nashville says "Ok, we wont match the offer but lets trade those draft picks for some of your players"
  5. I can live with that. Its a win win for everybody...except the Coyoyes ofcourse but so what. lol. Vorachek is a decent player but definitely worth dealing and Doan can still play even at 36.
  6. The hot rumour is that the Flyers have Shane Doan in town for a visit. Do any of you agree that they are pursuing him just incase they have to trade one of their Forwards to Nashville and sweeten the pot for Weber to get here?
  7. 8 years for murder? wtf kind of weak sentence is that? lol
  8. What i meant by saying "Giroux's team" was him being the face of the team but not the end all be all. The guy who takes charge and carries the team when they need it. I agree to not want everything to revolve around him and that is correct. But to assume the role as the leader of the team by earning it with performances like he had today is very good to have.
  9. True. I just believe that Pronger will be a man and step away with class and not milk this thing out. He seems like an unselfish guy that would take his families advice under consideration, and the best interest of the Flyers as well. I know that some of the greats in sports do not know when to walk away, but i think Pronger has an honorable like mentality in which he looks at the big picture instead of what he wants and does the right thing. Idk i just see him as that type of guy.
  10. lol i would of liked all of your posts but this game was so great that i maxed out my likes for one day!
  11. yeah. i feel stupid for even reposting it, because in the grand scheme of things its what those guys want. I just saw it as one of those "well he could be great...but then again he could go the other way" its a devils advocate mentality that i believe this media market likes to play off of...
  12. The difference is that Richards was GIVEN the "C". Giroux is in the process of earning it. If he keeps this up and takes the Flyers far in the playoffs with this same kind of play, he has earned not only the C but this becomes HIS team.
  13. True. I just love the timing. These guys are like parasites. "Well you know he could be great.....but" it just infuriates me. Then again thats probably the type of blood they want. The media is a bastard. lol
  14. http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/20120422_Flyers_Giroux_the_next_Clarke_____or_Lindros_.html Do i even need to post the text in this article? To insinuate that Giroux could be either one or the other is ridiculous. Not because he is or isnt as good as Clarke. Or that he will deal with all of the injuries and off ice distractions in which ruined Lindros career. My point is, where do these hack writers come up with this nonsense? And why must they always try to weave the seeds of desention? "He could be great like Clarke or he could flame out like Lindros" why? Giroux will do what he does through out his career. Just shut up dude!!
  15. If it was a body injury Pronger could shake it off. But a concussion (as bad as his was) at his age, and after all he has accomplished over his career i think he calls it quits. It sucks. But even before that i thought his lack of speed was becoming a liability. For the short time he was here though, that guy gave us alot. And i believe he had a strong input on the decision regarding whether or not the Flyers would be better off without Richards and Carter. Thats just my opinion though.
