Jvr was a beast.

True. I've been a huge JVR supporter, because I thought maybe he could be the Flyers version of Franzen... who took some time to become the player he is. So, when I watch JVR I find myself thinking give him time and he is going to be dominant; but, when I watch Couturier I think man when this guy fills out he is going to be dominant.... All that being written, JVR dominated during the playoffs last year, and is coming back from an injury.... the 2nd round, if he stays healthy will be a good test.

I liked how he drove hard to the net. Stall is a center, so I wasn't comparing him to a center. To me he and Neal are both big, skilled guys on the wing. I'd like to see jvr put pressure on teams the way Neal does .... Beating guys 1 v 1 when driving hard to the net. I think it's what the flyers envisioned when they drafted him.... And I still believe he can be that player... We've seen glimpses.

Watching Neal couldn't help but think and hope that jvr will be playing like this in the near future.

Agree. It doesn't matter if the players were injured. He took a run at a player. His coach left him in and than he took a run at another player. Anyone whose played a sport has had moments in games where you lose it. You have to be held accountable for your actions when you do so. You have to suspend him because he is a star player and to make coaches pull a player off.

Those are very wise, self aware statements. Focus on the only thing you can control... Your present... Admit powerlessness over others ... Accept that the concept of team thrives with unity of purpose, with space for different behaviors and roles. Truly remarkable.

If you compare the hit on alfredson to Neal's two actions, I would say 5 to 6 games would be fair; given the teams involved I expect no suspension, which would be a shame because both instances were intentional cheap shots within a close period of time.. That shows me that he was out of control....

The pens will be looking to provoke things to get flyers suspended because the league will be watching this game closely, especially with comments by coaches and crosby's complaining about people complaining about him.
