  1. Mad Dog said, "I keep hearing the possibility of Pronger actually returning next year is becoming more and more realistic, especially if the start of the season gets delayed." "And no, no links. Don't ask me for links. This is just the proverbial "word out on the street". Plus the local radio mentioned it several times over the last month." "Man........... would *that* be mudding waters or what." It would be but he's almost 40, and has a concussion and it would be total bonus for him to play 15 minutes a night at this point. I'm not counting on it, as much as I like #20. You can't rely on him. I am one of his biggest fans going back to when he played in St. Louis, but he's one hit from retirement and God knows what else for him.
  2. The bottom line is Homer realizes that Pronger won't play again. If he was going to we would know it by now. Do you feel comfortable with the defense we currently have? I don't at all. We have a once in an every twenty year shot to land a top-notch defenseman who will be leading this team for a long time. You have to take that chance. As MadDog said (paraphrase) "I don't want to throw away a good player like Bourdon"(and there's other players I'd rather trade), but if it lands me Weber, I live with trading him.
  3. I would agree that they will want a couple of good NHL players but there's no way I would give them Simmonds, his upside is too great. I would much rather give up Read, though I like him, because he has great speed and quickness but is replaceable. I agree on trading Bourdon but I really think he has the ability to be a very good player. How about Wellwood instead of Bourdon? Isn't he still under contract?
  4. I'd still do it. You can replace those players, that are decent to silghtly above decent at best and picks don't mean NHL quality..
  5. How did Weber skip out on the team he captained? They lowballed him last year, so now they expect him to say "No problem, I'll go back to Nashville". after the Flyers blew them out of the water with an offer? Also, Talbot has the experience of winning a Cup. Giroux should be captain in 2013-14, imo so why not bring him along to do so now with an A. Weber is an All-Star defenseman in his prime known for his great all-around play throughout the league
  6. I think Talbot will get the C, and Weber gets the A as does Giroux. Weber is a newcomer and I think for as great as Claude is, it should be 2013-2014 when he becomes captain.
  7. Amaro hurt the team because he didnt address his bullpen, except for Papelbon. Every game they lose is in 6th to 9th inning. Anyway, back to hockey...
  8. Coburn, Schenn, Weber, (a healthy) Timonen, Meszaros. Rangers offense nullified. Um...now about Lunqvist, another story.
  9. I don't feel bad for Nashville, they have Rinne who's better than Bryz. Plus, they lowballed Webber with an offer last year and now he doesn't really want to be there.
  10. As a Flyers fan, the Rags can have Nash. Weber cancels out Nash. By Thursday, Philly will have Weber.
