That being said, does this officially start the MAF trade watch? I though we had to protect Fleury in the expansion draft because of his NMC clause? I agree though - this signals the end for Fleury somehow after this season as the Pens cannot afford to keep two netminders totalling over $9,000,000 in cap space. Yes, they have to protect him in the expansion draft, but his NMC is limited, so he can choose the teams he can or cannot be traded to.
