Has the Message Been Sent?
Marco Scandella was sent to Houston, Colton Gillies sent to Columbus via waver acquisition. Zanon to be benched from tonight’s lineup replaced by Lundin. Hackett will be the back-up in place of Backstrom who is said to be still ill. This list could be larger, there were more players in need of a wake-up call after the game with the Blackhawks on Thursday. So are these moves enough? Has the team heard the message that Yeo is stating?
“It’s not acceptable to play one good game and then not play the next game. It is not, we cannot accept that.”
Tonight the Wild face the Blues in St. Louis at 8:00EST. The Blues are 19-5-6 with Hitchcock at the helm. They are the NHL’s best home team, compiling 17 wins in the Gateway City. It could get ugly if the Wild play less than a 60 minute effort tonight. They desperately need a win on the road. Josh Harding will get the start again tonight after being pulled against the Blackhawks.
