The Blackhawks have recalled defenseman Dylan Olsen from the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs, and placed forward Marcus Kruger and defenseman Steve Montador on Injured Reserve. Additionally, forward Andrew Shaw has been added to the active roster.

Olsen, 21, was the Blackhawks first selection (28th overall) in the 2009 National Hockey League Entry Draft. He has tallied one goal, one assist and 38 penalty minutes in 30 regular-season tilts this year with the IceHogs in his first full professional campaign. Over parts of the last two seasons, the Calgary, Alberta, native has registered six points (G, 5A) and 48 penalty minutes in 72 regualr-season AHL contests.

Prior to his professional debut, Olsen registered 24 points (2G, 22A) and 71 penalty minutes in 53 tilts over parts of two collegiate seasons (2009-2010) at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Last winter he captured a silver medal with Team Canada at the 2011 World Junior Championships, registering two assists in seven games, and he also posted four points (2G, 2A) and a +4 plus/minus rating in six games with Team Canada at the 2009 Under-18 IIHF World Championships.
