1 – Edmonton Oilers coach Dallas Eakins will be the first coach fired.
2 – Television ratings will be at an all time high.
3 – The Los Angeles Kings will struggle out of the gate – the Kings played a lot of hockey last season/playoffs, without much of an off season.
4 – Jake Allen will emerge as the goaltending answer in St. Louis.
5 – Tyler Seguin will lead the league in points. He has the potential, and he will be playing with one of the best in Jamie Benn.
6 – Alex Ovechkin will have a bounce back season, and the Washington Capitals will be a playoff factor this season.
7 – Brock Nelson of the New York Islanders will be the shocker player of the year. He will go from a nobody to scoring machine.
8 – John Gibson of the Anaheim Ducks and Johnny Gaudreau of the Calgary Flames will battle it out for the Calder Trophy.
9 – Anaheim Ducks will win the Presidents Trophy.
10 – The NHL’s good luck with outdoor game weather will come to an end. One of the two games will be a weather nightmare.
11 – Martin Brodeur will finally read the writing on the wall and retire.
12 – Florida Panthers will announce that they will be moving to Quebec City.
13 – Fighting penalties will continue to fall, and concussions will continue to rise.
14 – Pekka Rinne will bounce back from a serious infection that sidelined him for most of last year and contend for a Vezina Trophy.
15 – The Detroit Red Wings will fail to qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time in 22 years.
