4) Today in Flyers History: October 26* 1969: Bernie Parent battled his childhood idol (and subsequent goaltending mentor) Jacques Plante to a draw in a 0-0 tie between the Flyers and St. Louis Blues at the Spectrum. The 24-year-old Parent stopped all 25 shots he faced, while the 40-year-old Plante turned back all 26 shots fired on his net. I get where you are coming from, but he did show better wheels in his playoff appearance. Seems like waiting is the prudent course of action here. Either he shows enough to stay and becomes a regular again or hopefully ups his trade value. Barabanov/Matthews/Marner- line needs a change, regular season dynamic, playoffs less so
Kerfoot/JT/Nylander- speed, talent should be an excellent line
It's been eventful.

Thornton-UFA signing- 31 points last year in 70 games, $.7 mil., this is a good signing as the contract is totally buriable, he should be a very good 2nd PP option.
Spezza-UFA signing- liked him last year but he's mostly a PP option.
These 3 might be very good as 2nd PP pla
