Not that this is a big deal or anything, but...two-years, $2,975,000 million contract ($1,450,000 in 2019-20 and $1,525,000 in 2020-21)
But see that's the problem in the salary cap era you have to or otherwise in the long run some good talent is headed out the door.
In the 90's days sure who gives a f**k.
But the while point of drafting all the good kids is so you can hold onto more than 3 or 4.
Not caring now is disaster for later.
I like this hire better than the other names that were floating around out there.. hopefully he can convey that message and if certain players don't listen they're shipped out or benched no matter what their price tag is. The locker room has needed someone to come in and clear out the cancerous players for a long while now and it needs to happen no matter if it sets the team back a few years or not. I'd rather be patient and see a proper rebuild that takes a handful of years than sit through mor
No. Not putting the sole reason aside and engage in "sky is falling" and goofy suggestions about trading him. It's like, "putting aside the fact she's in 30 feet of water, a strong current, and can't swim, why do you think she's struggling to survive?"
There are a bunch of teams in the same boat. Once the pieces start to fall, they'll fall. That's all there is to see here. He is going to be signed. There's no reason, even on a slow summer day, to entertain the rest of that.
My favorite quote from Russo's article was:
"This is why Guerin has said one of his first missions will be to talk in that locker room and do his best to convey to the players that it’s critical they all pull on the same rope, that they put the team in front of himself. "
I can't wait to see how that plays out...
