  1. Feels good to have a hometown champion once again..... Not since 2002 Bucs in the NFL and 2004 Lightning have I been able to say that MY team was the absolute best in its sport. This whole Covid stop and re-start DID put a damper on the whole excitement level, I will say. And I even went on to say that no matter WHO wins (Bolts included), that winner should have an asterisk next to their name. Do I still feel that way? To a degree.... but in this case, I will unashamedly let my bias take over and just say that the Lightning were one of the favorites if not THE favorite to win p

  2. I agree they are doing their due diligence to collect all this nice depth and talent to fill the coffers with. And have some nitwit guiding them through one of the hardest pro leagues in the hockey world, intending on helping them transition from young boy prospect hopefully into young me with bright NHL futures. It just doesn't add up and i feel it is wasting time getting these kids up to speed so when called upon they can help the pro team skip as little a beat as possible and then eventually catch the NHL coaches eye when they get their cup of coffee and that starts

  3. Hart over Samsonov... I'd argue that the caps are a more rounded team, and Hart had to steal a few...

  4. Won't happen till Giroux, Jake and JVR aren't on this roster. They set bad examples to the rest of the team. I know these kids see them floating around out there and during practice and during games not working and skating circles and staying far away from the work as possible, wanting someone else to do the heavy lifting and know they will/can get away with it and it's why we see it creeping into their games as well. It's just a learned bad habit. I don't believe it will change until they are gone. Especially after what i saw this playoff run.

  5. We do not have the talent level of teams like Tampa or even the Islanders . We do not have dynamic players like Stamkos, Kucherov or Barzal who can dominate every time they are on the ice and can turn a game by themselves. So , we are going to have to build a team that wins on defense , goaltending and out working our opponents, much like Flyers teams back in the day. In 87 we took Edmonton to 7 games, we weren't even close to their skill level, but nobody worked harder than the Flyers. We had solid skill, but it was hard work, heart and determination that propelled that team.

  7. It’s inevitable, Ghost is getting traded. Maybe we can use Ghost and our 23rd pick to move up at least10 spots in the draft in the draft and grab a real good player,

  8. Dear BC: I did not mean to question your assessment--it is very accurate, sorry if I seemed critical. You raise a very interesting scenario with Linus or "other." AV is into accountability and a re-signed Hagg isn't guaranteed a slot. I agree on the over-achieve and hope we aren't disappointed.

  9. Rangers needed cap relief, giving up a second was a fair price for them. As for the Wings, assuming there is a 2021 season, Staal will likely be moved for a 3rd or so at the deadline. So essentially for a little money we get a 2nd and likely a 3rd so i guess it is a win/win. My problem is that Staal is one of my least favorite players in the game, i have never understood the media love for him, i know he is a good interview in a game with vanilla cliché players and supposedly a really nice guy but lets be honest, he isn't much of a player and never has been. Yeah he has played 800 plus games s

  10. Well written once again! Interesting to hear Guerin wants to see more of Rask. But Staal for Johansson? On the surface one would think a good move; getting younger and faster. IMO the reality is quite different. Johansson has underperformed a while now and has some health issues too. This move (too) wasn't made to improve the Wild, it's a marketing stunt. Unless Johansson produces something extraordinary next season. Anyone want to check out how many points the Wild's new group of centers amassed last season or the season before that? ... This is what a rebu

  11. You guys know how I feel about this, as in my opinion Brodin is the best hockey player on the Wild, mobile, high hockey IQ, and ability to shift directions seamlessly. He's also a cool hand carrying the puck out of our zone. Might I add speed as well.
