  1. Is there a Panarin out there that's going to be UFA in the next 2-3 years? Possible, I guess... The next trick is getting them to sign here. "Buffalo bad" certainly hasn't helped Buffalo. Nor has it been a magic panacea for the Oilers. Or Coyotes. Or Ottawa. The organization* needs a fundamental shake up at the core. We have decades of failed phillyosophy still leading the team and they are still going nowhere... That said, I'm not going to pretend that losing a top pair Dman wouldn't have an adverse effect on most NHL franchises...

  2. Well i just want yall to know i am here for all you guys....you need a shoulder to cry on i'm your guy some of you sound like yall are going to spontaneously explode and well i don't want to see that happen. So get it all out and i am doing to save all the dogs around the world from being needlessly being kicked for nothing of their own doing. Saving dogs around the world is my mission especially Flyer fan ones those poor dogs probably know nothing but kicking and beating for the last decade. So let it all out and maybe you know someone above hears it and it

  3. I don't think that will happen. His cap hit is still $4M. Any GM that picks him up at a $4M cap hit for that production should be pantsed and thrown in the street... Even if the Wild pay part of his salary, he's getting paid $4M this season. Since the season is half over (roughly), he is owed $2M. If the Wild picked up half his salary, maybe he'd be worth $1M to some team, but then that team would still have the $4M cap hit for the rest of the season. Not sure what teams would be willing to absorb a $4M cap hit for half a season for a non-productive player that will be a UFA after

  5. Another "meaningless" NHL season with a big ol' Astrix next to the cup winner.... Teams are full of AHL call ups, games canceled, schedules and travel are impacting teams and their play.... Garbage. ALSO.... is Ryan Ellis still on our Roster or did he just quietly leave through the back door of the WFC one night and no one noticed..... Haven't heard a thing about this guy for what seems like weeks.....

  6. When posters complained in the offseason about management (Scott, Holmgren, Fletcher) and the moves that Fletcher made, some said it was too soon to call whether the Flyers would be good. We're now nearly 25% of the way through the season. In honor of this tradition, this thread is for listing your excuses why the Flyers are bad. I'll get us started: Old Man Ellis caught the LBI working in the holler and things ain't been the same. Injuries to .59ppg $7M Hollywood Hayes. This was still a good signing. It's an odd year, so Provorov is bad. Next year he will be good. Wait

  8. @GratefulFlyers I've said my share of dumb **** on this site. Notice I did not call you dumb. Notice I called the statement dumb. We all say dumb things. Own it and move on.

  9. Ellis has twice as many points as Patrick and Meyers have - combined - in four times as many games... And as for the Ghost trade you spelled "nothing" wrong - as in their compensation wasn't "future considerations" it was "nothing." For me this season just ties a neat little bow on the abject failure of this organization* over the past 10 years. They took a big swing and missed. The unfortunate thing from where I sit is that their big takeaway from the experience is likely to be "keep swinging - harder!"

  10. Probably as the wild PP structure is more than likely their biggest problem.

  14. Maybe...if he stumbles and blind luck hits him on the way down. I just don't trust this guy to do anything different than he's already done. One or two good moves and the rest have been either underwhelming (but good value) like a 5th for Nate Thompson, or Epic Fails like giving away Myers and Patrick for Fabergé Eggman and even worse AZ gets Gostibehere AND two goddamn draft picks. What do the Flyers get? "Future considerations." Brilliant. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WlAZ7SLuUw

  15. Dear Maine: I agree on the season. About the only positive for the Flyers may be from the AHL call-ups. We have a potential backup in Sandstrom. York is a keeper. If Fletcher puts up the For Sale sign, we may have others to build on. At this stage, I would rather see the youngins than JVR, Yandle, and the others....including Giroux if we get something good. Ellis could be a real human and organizational tragedy. Seriously. I hope we don't have another Hatcher or Rathje on our hands. Even worse would be a late stage Forsberg who was in and out of the lineup and

  16. Strange to say but neither Koncecny nor Sanheim has played well, yet the Flyers are probably worse without them. Konecny hasn't scored a goal in a month and Sanheim gets more allergic to the puck and to defense every game. ATTN: BC, PH, Comcast Guy: Hire some real development coaches. It shouldn't be too hard to find a couple guys who can coach and develop young players. I am sick of seeing potential just wasted. You can't expect Farabee, Konecny, etc. to get better when the Flyers can't even get through the neutral zone. I know dump 'n chase is a legit attack but not All the Fkng

  17. If I'm home I'll watch bc Flyers/Pens is as good as we'll get this year. But the odds are the Flyers get embarrassed by a good team. And also someone in the O&B will make a good play. One every 60, count on it!

  18. Beckman is a good hard working prospect too. I am sure he has a nice potential as NHLer for our team. Last fall during a preseason games he placed most goals (4) for the team. Actually Evason said in his interview to the media that our PP sucks.

  22. Well...you know, it's ABOUT DAMNED TIME! Willie Nylander is a fine player who is continuously living in the shadow of Mitch "Small Man" Marner, Auston "Peachfuzz Stache" Matthews, and Johnny Pajamas! Nylander deserves more of the spotlight as he is every bit as good as those guys! Now, with the Pittsburgh organization, and guys like Malkin and Crosby slowing down a bit, Nylander will get his time to shine and be "The Man!". Great shooter, good wheels, very offensive minded....should fit in FANTASTIC with the Pittsburgh Penguins! I can't wait to see the looks on Leaves® fans faces

  24. While I won't disagree that this deal would definitely have the "Homer approved" stamp on it, it's also exactly the kind of deal several of us warned several of you that Fletcher would make en route to completely destroying this team. Just like he did in his coveted state...that he's not even from.

  25. Everyone has to set their own priorities in life and after watching them for so long and now having a family and a 10 year old daughter who needs my love i choose her over these suck ass Flyers. I can't justify not spending time with them to watch a bunch of millionaires skate around on the ice like they could care less about the results of their games. Nope they can do that all they want and i don't have to watch. It sucks and it use to bring me joy to enjoy and good hard fought Flyer win and well i just haven't had that joy in a long time. So yeah i keep t

  26. They all have had superstar players and leaders. We don't. I think that's what it boils down to...and an egotistical ownership group that is more interested in trying to get blood from a stone (Giroux), and win with him when it's not possible with him as their best scoring forward, than they are in truly winning a Cup. He cannot be the best player on your hockey team if you want to win a Cup.

  27. Do you really think that's true though? I never thought much of Holmgren but 80s hockey? If anything, this team we have is kind of soft. They definitely aren't caught up in some sort of dated idea. They play speed and possession like everybody else. They definitely don't pound people around or play overly physical. They just can't score goals. I personally think it's AV's system. Unless you're going to change the players they need to open this thing up with the guys they have.

  28. Does this sound familiar..."I like our club" the immortal words of Paul Holmgren. In my words the team sucks.

  31. Tarasenko is as old as Panarin and will be 4-5 years older than Panarin was when he signed when his current contract runs out. I can certainly see Homer backing a move to get an aging star with declining production as a major UFA "catch" though. That Patrik Laine might be available, though... What would the league do without Columbus to let guys walk for nothing? No need to take him to task for playing through things. He's still just not a terribly impactful hockey player even when not "playing through" things. But, hey, they won a p
