    WTF????

Hey, it's true. He's a marvelous talent, but I'd be little leery devoting that much cap space to a player whose scoring drops off the map so badly for literally half the season. He may turn that around as he progresses, but so far he can't score on the road anything remotely close to what you want from an $8M player.

  2. If I were the Flames, that $8M figure would be very livable, depending on which Johnny Gaudreau I think I'm going to get.
Are they getting the guy who scores 2.68 Pts/60 (7th in NHL since he entered the league) at home, or are they getting the road player that's been 526th in the NHL during the same period?

One of them is astounding when the coach gets last change, and the other scores less than everybody's favorite bust, Nail Yakupov. The difference is that stark.

Jeeze guys - it's a mans' sport. Even in baseball nice guys finish last. I'd have given the kid 2 for diving and a soother - sorry. Can't take it seriously - no penalty was even called.

P.S. would the language in that article link be Finnish?

He plays a cheap version of hockey, and if he were a European player, all we would ever hear about is what a gutless puke he is.

  4. Corey Perry (as a player) is simply obnoxious, and this is just another page from his playbook. His is a game of cheap shots, spearing opponents in the nuts, shooting pucks at goalies after the whistle, sucker punches, stealing sticks, spraying other players and/or filling their gloves with water, hits from behind, and then screaming blue murder whenever he happens to be called on his crap. He kicked Jimmy Howard in the head, and could have damned near decapitated him, and even pissed of 4-time Lady Byng winner Pavel Datsyuk enough to fight.

On the ice, he's probably most similar to Ted Lindsay, though Lindsay is an exceptionally classy man off the ice. I only hope Perry follows that model in his private life.
