I am now a Grand Master. From this point forward I prefer to be addressed in this manner, “GrandMaster Coach”, “Grandmaster X”, or just “GCX”

now that I have reached this powerful status, i will use my power to influence DB to trade Scott Laughton, just so I can say, “I told you so” to all you haters.

you may now go back to paying attention to anything else, which is more important then my useless drivel

Oh my, the old ladies at the top of the escalators will be positively swooning!

I get when you pick top 10 you maybe expect a player to be in the top 6, but when you pick 25th (or in Frosts case, 27th) you should just be happy to get an NHLer out of it.

Poehling got overhyped post draft, maybe a bit went to his head or maybe he just wasn't what they said he was, but he's becoming a very good bottom 6 guy, and they're important if you want to win championships.

Poehling is wearing #25 and his name practically rhymes with Podein. Of course he's succeeding.

With Jian Ghomeshi, as I recall, the judge deciding the case found that the accusers were not just inconsistent in their testimony, but downright repeatedly untruthful.

-The accusers told the court that they were terrified of him, but it was only at trial where it was discovered that they had continued to proactively email him, talking about how they were looking forward having sex with him again, how they enjoyed themselves, describing how rough they wanted it, etc. One of the accusers sent bikini pictures and another sent a photo of her fellating a beer bottle.

-The judge essentially found that the accusers conspired against Ghomeshi. They exchanged thousands of text between each other, in which they talked about how they were going to destroy him and his career, and also hired the same lawyer and also employed a publicist.

Plus Ghomeshi had an absolute shark of a lawyer who made minced meat of those women.

...direct any questions you may have to the league

Yes, if you're going to say nothing you go full legal and say this, in which case you prolly don't even hold a presser.

Yeah, but I'm not sure what else he can say, you know?  I'm sure he's under instruction from corporate counsel on this.

    Yeah, fair enough.

I guess they had to do a press conference, but a press conference where you read a two sentence statement that says you have nothing to say but will take questions, and then when questioned say you know nothing, just creates cynicism.

    Unavoidable I guess.

....the whole concept that they've never in any way shape or form ever talked to him about anything having to do with this situation seems borderline irresponsible.

    It just doesn't seem believable.

Carter's name was being thrown around at various points about potentially being involved in this, including on this forum.

DB's presser today on this is completely underwhelming on all fronts. Doesn't know anything. Carter who?

So, here's a question.   Let's say Carter is found guilty and (I admit I don't know the whole story) Hockey Canada is thought to have to have tried to cover this up previous to the Flyers drafting Carter, will the Flyers Organization sue Hockey Canada for loss of revenue?    Not sure they can get a draft pick in compensation as the NHL wasn't involved.

Interesting question. Probably? I will ask my lawyer girlfriend.

But let's say the answer is yes they could sue HC for damages. They'd get like 12 bucks, some Tim's donuts, and a case of beer.

And he has questionable ethics when it comes to women……allegedly

You mean like sleeping with Brindy's wife? Or was it the other way around?

Which red-blooded men among us can claim to be pure as the driven snow on these matters? Not me, but in fairness to me, sheep have been the most transgressed, ahem.
