  1. I do believe that all non-playoff teams go into the lottery but the chances of a team who maybe the 15th or 16th worse team moving up very high in the draft are slim to none but there's always a chance.
  2. Yes, the Leafs have high end talent but if both teams make the playoffs they'll both be out in the first round. The big difference is everyone would expect the Flyers not to advance but the Leafs are expected to with all of that high end talent. They're great in the regular season but suck in the playoffs. I hope the Flyers don't win any of their remaining games and fall a lot in the standings to get a better pick. Ersson looks like he's tired!
  3. This is their playoffs since Briere didn't bring in an experienced goalie to help Ersson out, if they don't make it they'll probably have their 1st rounder between the 10th pick and 16th pick and then the Flyers will have another 1st round pick late in the first round depending where Florida ends up.
  4. Yes Briere's trade for Johnson was probably out of need for an experienced defenseman since Seeler is out and Walker is gone. It would have been nice to pickup Raanta off waivers to have a more experienced goalie to help Ersson but so be it. I'd give Briere a grade of B for his first trade deadline, now let's see what he does with the draft picks this coming draft.
  5. Mojo I understand what you're saying but after March 8th Walker should definitely not be on this team, Laughton possibly because there will be always some GMs who will overpay at the deadline if they think their team is close. Konecny, the Flyers don't know what he's going to ask in his next contract so I'd trade him now with one year left on his current deal. As for Seeler, if he resigns at $3 million for the next 3 years I'm fine with that as long as Risto is on his way out, the Flyers don't need two of the exact same type of veteran defensemen with one making $5.1 million per year and other $3 million. So we'll see what Briere does in his first trade deadline.
  6. Well said, either Briere and Jones are committed to a rebuild which they trade Walker, Seeler, and Laughton and even possibly Konecny at the deadline or they're full of ****. We'll see.
  7. Well if TK wants $9 or $10 million per year then trade him this trade deadline to get a maximum return. Owen Tippett could slide in to be the number one right winger going forward since the Flyers signed him to that new contract.
  8. I think Briere has probably tried but no team will trade for Hart if he is involved in the 2018 World Jrs investigation.
  9. As much as we want as fans for the Flyers to rebuild properly and keep losing games, the players themselves don't want that. Briere has to stay committed to trading players with expiring contracts at the deadline no matter where the Flyers are in the standings to get draft picks. We'll see if he does that.
  10. Hope all Flyers fans living in the United States have a great thanksgiving weekend!
  11. Yes, but the Canadiens had that miracle run with Price in the net, hell being a fan since '73 I'll take a miracle run with Hart in the net if it finally means one more cup I get to see before having my ticket on earth pulled! It took this franchise 40 years to draft and develop a homegrown goalie so they might as well play it out with him.
  12. That's where I'm at with Hart, he's the 1st true homegrown goalie since Lindbergh, I don't count Hextall's rookie season because after that season he wasn't that good. I'm really hoping that they don't trade Hart but build around him so by the time he hits 28 years old then the Flyers contending window will be open. We'll see.
  13. It's a double edged sword with Hart, as much as I'd love the Flyers extend him if they keep him he'll cost them a higher draft pick. So if Briere and Jones want to do a full rebuild then they might not have any choice but trade Hart. Trade him to Edmonton and bring back Campbell and that will guarantee the 1st overall pick with him in net.
  14. I'd be okay with that. Losing to the Sharks may start to stir things up on the trade front.
  15. Maybe but I think if Savoie is part of the trade then Edmonton would probably want a young player going back their way.
  16. How about the following trade: To EDM: Carter Hart Morgan Frost To PHILLY: Jack Campbell Philip Broberg Edm's 2024 1st round pick Edm's 2026 2nd round pick Campbell will guarantee Flyers losses for this year and next year for sure. Broberg is a 22 year old LD. The picks are Carter Hart and taking on Campbell's contract. Thoughts?
  17. Yep the Oilers need to make a big trade to shake things up so the Flyers maybe the right trading partner. We'll see.
  18. That's what I was thinking, the Oilers need to make a big change in goaltending, so Hart going to the Oilers would make sense. I believe it's Holland's last year anyways so he won't give a **** about the Oilers future picks he wants to win now. Besides Hart is an Alberta boy and probably would love to play for the Oilers. So I guess we'll see what happens. Besides if the Flyers end up taking back Campbell as part of the deal it would guarantee lots of loses with him in the Flyers net.
  19. Well I guess the writing is on the wall, the Flyers will be the first NHL team to lose to the Sharks. This will help with the Flyers rebuild! All part of Briere's master plan. What's the over/under on when Briere ends up trading Hart?
  20. Oh well back to IR for Coots again, sounds about right!
  21. That's what I hope Briere does this year, let the youth play. When the deadline rolls around, take on bad contracts for assets and build up the draft capital. It will be a long season but if Briere sticks to the true rebuild then it will be interesting.
  22. I agree Briere isn't going for an accelerated rebuild, I believe he wants to strip it down to the bare bones and start from scratch. If that's the case based on other goalies who have played in their 30's I think Hart has at least 10 good seasons in him which brings him to the age of 35. So the question is does Briere want to waste 4 or 5 years of Hart's career during the rebuild or trade him to get assets to help the rebuild. Lots of goalies don't come into their own until the age of 25 so that's the age Hart is at now, personally I hope they don't trade him and let him grow with the young group but hey I'm just a fan who posts on the fan forum so what do I know.
  23. It's the same old story the goalie is either the hero or the goat! Hart is pretty good and it would be more obvious if he did have a decent team in front of him, he was responsible for a lot of the Flyers wins last year. Unfortunately, under Briere's plan I don't think Hart will be around to see the completion of the rebuild.
  24. That's what I was thinking, Staal will be traded at the deadline to a playoff team for picks.
