  1. I don't know much about this guy, except an article about the Flyers being interested four weeks ago. Maybe he just doesn't want to play for the Hawks and has another team he would prefer play for ? All the mandates could just politics.
  2. I don't watch the "Hawks" much, but it seems like everybody give Kane a break in the "rough him up" dept.. Unlike the Ranger's treatment of poor Claudie in the playoffs!
  3. I watched a repeat of the playoffs series(Flyers/Rangers/2014) last week on the NHL channel and was amazed at the Flyer's team/effort in game six.Definitely over the top,in your face, everybody pulling their weight,Flyer's in control hockey. Game seven, different team, everything that was good in game six disappeared. Anybody else wonder about that.
  4. Sticking up for your teammates, boy that would be a breathe of fresh air for this group. The Claudster could have use some of that in the Ranger's series. Maybe Chief could teach Voracek to goon it up a little?
  5. From what I've read DZ is generally considered a waste by the Rangers and the Preds. I curious about all the enthused responses?
  6. I seem to remember two or three players being involved. Could somebody enlighten me?
  7. All the other owners/GMs smell blood when it comes to the Flyers, thanks to Clarkie&Homer's past dealings. They feel very comfortable, thinking that if they wait, the Flyers will cave. This may be the year Hexie reverses that type of thinking. Would anybody here, knowing Vinny's rep want him?
  8. With Hartnells departure, does that mean the last of the "Dry Island" group is gone? Whats happening with Vinny?
  9. If anything is going to improve playoff chances,Chief would have to convince Cooter,B Schenn,Read,Voracek, etc. that hockey is a physical game and not air ball! Giroux got slapped around the entire Ranger's series, nobody responded, nobody. Fighting isn't required, just a little self-respect,little swagger,in your face hockey is missing here. Its time for the young guys to step up and play a man's game.
  10. The NHL is twenty years behind the other professional sports leagues in North America.
  11. Where JR is concerned you just have consider to the source!
  12. I gotta' tell ya' Lindros was the "BEST" power forward to "EVER' play the game, bar none! Wow! Now that was hockey!
  13. To answer the question what I think Giroux might bring, well with Lavi being the Pred's coach how about Webber and Jones straight up for Giroux and VLC? That would finally get the Flyers a little better defense and the Preds some real offense. Would that make everybody happy? I'll bet Lavi would like it !("The Best Player in the World")
  14. As I recall RJ was the man the Flyers could always count on to score against the Pens,I don't recall the year,he about destroyed Price in the playoffs(9 goals?). I never understood why the moved him,the story at the time was to free up cash to extend Carter. This guy is a stand -up player something sorely missing here. Sheena seems upbeat!
  15. Maybe this would be a good time to see what Giroux is worth?
  16. Nice write-up,Flyer's staff don't sound too optimistic for next season. Could be the Sam Hinkie effect?
  17. Any time you can put a mean guy in front of your goalie, that's good. Considering all the defensive weenies the Flyers have now, anything would be an improvement,Gagne started very young (18yrs.?) I never saw him deliver a body check the whole time he was here. I say let the young guys play themselves out of a job.
  18. After watching Giroux's performance in the Ranger's series, last summer's finger disorder, this summer's heine scandal, maybe it's time for "G" to join Richards,Carter,Upshall,Hartnell,Carcillo, and other Flyer problem children. It would free up a lot of money and end the search for a left wing for Claudenia to play with. Maybe "Dry Island" wasn't such a bad idea?
  19. I always suspected a few members of the Flyers were active members of "The Blue Oyster Society".
  20. I for one don't know the real reason for Hartnell leaving, but I am glad to see Umberger back.
  21. Seems to be missing here, being from So.Jersey I don't get real information like some members from Canada, who have much greater access to who is doing what. Most of the online stuff is about a small nucleus of players, who are star types. I posted a couple weeks about Brendan Lemieux(whose stock seems to have dropped since) Flyer Canuck responded. Are there any other Flyer types in the draft? Lemieux as of yesterday via Meltzer was projected at 38th down from 28th a couple weeks ago. I'd like to hear who anybody suggest.
