  1. Confidence is important, for the player, the teammates, and the fans (ugh press). Hope to see more confidence from the young D early this season!
  2. One more thought.... JC could at least buy his dad a flip flop with a bottle opener! Cheap mofo
  3. Thanks Pods! Been missing the forum since moving to NC.
  4. I played in the ACHA in the early 90s for a Philly Big 5 school and it was basically a beer league for local college kids that were in shape and who's parents gave them an allowance (hell, some of our players were not "officially" enrolled in school when they played). Turn the calendar forward 2 decades and the ACHA has bred some really competitive hockey. Teams quasi recruit players from all over North America (the kids who can't or don't want to make the jump to JR or NCAA D1/3), they play upwards of 30 game seasons and travel all over the country to expand competition. There is a yearly national championship tournament, with several of the local Delaware Valley teams consistenlty nationally ranked. Some of the Philly area players have been included on the travel team that travels yearly to Europe to play some of the professional teams. It's a far cry from my slap shot days of playing in the DVCHL, freezing at outdoor rinks like Bryn Athen, and long bus trips to farm country in PA and NY. It may not be professional caliber hockey, but it's free, frequent and usually attended by hot co-eds (and if you choose the right game there might even be a keg in the stands).
  5. Thought it could be the SIC beach house at first, then saw a few trees in the next photo. Don't recall any trees left in SIC. You'd think with his cash he'd pass on a few bucks to Mum and Dad for some new swag (or at least a new couch cover), but then again, not sure JC knows how to pass.
  6. Tuned in late to the game, but periods 2-3 looked good. Why does this team start sooooo slow. BTW - dropped by the "philly.com" board today... it looked like the Matrix Revolutions, with Buffalo rick and pschitzo Kuato monopolizing the party. wow
  7. He still makes the rediculous cross ice passes and seems to be good for a stupid penalty along the way, but impressive +-
  8. "Divorce Starter" is a great name for a beverage. We simply refer to it as " The Monkey"! And your correct, the Monkey can really kick your butt if you're not looking. Thankfully the Total WIne in Durham sells Victory beer or I would need to make more trips back to PA. In the winter I switch to the "Old HO" and she packs a punch, and I'm not talking my significant other! See below!
  9. I logged into the "Matrix" this morning and the take over is almost complete! WOW, just wow. I must admit I felt like an addict going back there this morning, with the initial high of clicking on the link followed by the crash of seeing its current state, now I'm here for rehab! Ahhhhh!
