  1. to be honest, i'd put my money on crosby in that bout... despite it all
  2. uhhh...the rags want to play the flyers in the playoffs, whom they've swept this year....not the pens....while torts has a point, i def think his outburst has an ...ulterior motive...
  3. its good to get acquainted. likely, they're our dance partner for a few more.
  4. exactly. he hit the boards awkwardly, and that may have elicited a signal, but briere stopped waaaay short of the boards and te defender isnt a bad reputation guy. it was a good non call. flip the uniforms and we'd feel the same way.
  5. thing is tho, simmonds and jvr play totally different styles. im not sure the two are comparable. simmonds is a specimen in himself also, and the flyers scouting came through with him. they felt he was an ascending talent, and for sure, his upsidelooks a lot like hartnell's: tough in the slot, in front of the net, setting a screen, tough in the corners, on the boards and ^ penalty minutes. 25-35 goal scorer. How much of the above sounds like JVR's game? Not much. JVR is a finesse player, more of a playmaker than a finisher, altho we have seen flashes of finishing with him.
  6. it's simple. the rangers match up well against the flyers. they have incredible talent at goalie, which is their major advantage. they also have incredible talent blossoming on defense, and they are playing well as a team right now - especially team defense. to top it off, they have players on offense that score timely goals. it's not magic. we aren't the only ones losing to the rangers right now.
  7. all of these guys deserve it, and perhaps hartnell. timo has had an incredible year - one of his best as a flyer. so clutch. read has shown the grittiness and scoring touch of a seasoned vet. couturier is what makes this team exciting to watch. he's going to be a future MVP candidate. IMO his ceiling is as high as Giroux's. So impressed with his overall game as well as his recent success on the scoresheet. giroux...is a testament to everything this organization needs to represent. homegrown. super star. in all phases.
