@OccamsRazor that's hilarious and frightening all at once

@jammer2 yeah, can't argue with that, I guess my biggest issue is hartsy on our top line and how vinny or hall doesn't fix that. I'd rather read or gags (if he's back) there. I don't hate hartsy at all, but he is def not dynamic

A better way to say it was wasn't G's natural position C from day one, and I did see sites listing him as a wing, so you're def right there

@ aziz, I respect the opinion, but I think the postional shift on offense is pretty substantial. Neutral zone shifts are one thing, but generaly in either teams zone a wing shouldn't travel further than the opposite post side. Wasn't G a center from day 1? What sites show him as a wing?
  5. I know we have prospects, and I guess Harts has his moments, but we are overloaded @ C and loaded @ RW, but stink @ LW. I guess we could plug the gaping top line hole with Vinny or baby schenn, but centers rarley do their best @ wing and imo thats wasting talent. Wing sides are not as interchangeable as people act like they are... especially at a high level. With all the conjecture on the board I'm shocked people aren't clamoring for a player to complete the _ G V line. It seems to be a huge puzzle piece missing in a complete O from my perspective.
  6. from NHL.com... Jake Allen: A dark-horse candidate, but the impending restricted free agent could be a prime candidate for an offer sheet -- and as we saw last summer, Holmgren is not shy about going after restricted free agents. The Blues will have to spend big to sign defensemen Alex Pietrangelo and Kevin Shattenkirk to new deals, as well as forward Chris Stewart, all of whom will be restricted free agents if not signed by July 5. If the Flyers make a big-money offer, will the Blues match and potentially risk being unable to sign one of their other core players? A Mason/Allen tandem might be interesting... Hadn't thought of him until I read the article on NHL.com
  7. If it comes out of a (non roth) retirement acct it's taxed as income. If it comes out of a retail acct typically if the securities were owned < 1 year it's short term cap gains which I think are taxed as income, > 1 year it's long term cap gains which should be 15% max
  8. I find it strange that BSH even wrote an article about this. It's probably in response to DBB's article about the same topic, but BSH usually won't touch "speculation" articles. Sabres fans seem to love the idea of getting Briere back in the mix. Tyler Myers had a down year, but he should bounce back. Our young core of centers would benefit from getting time in their natural position. would I take this trade? Absolutely (as long as we can still pay G, Couts, and Schenner in 2014) do I think this is a realistic possibility? nope
  9. That sucks. Well, Nashville has screwed up with paperwork and deadlines in the past... fingers crossed
  10. From what I gather, if we end up with Weber (I know it's a big if) his cap hit will be around $7.8 mil. That's right around the space we have now according to capgeek (no counting Pronger's LTIR relief which is around 4.9 mil annually) My question is, how does that affect Jake? I know 4.9 is more than likely enough to get it done, and salaries can be shed, but this is a little concerning to me. If memory serves, in 97, we signed Gratton to an offer sheet, then set up a player trade before the 7 day waiting period. Could Homer be setting us up for something like that? I just dont see Homer sending an offer sheet unless he has a plan, I also dont see Weber signing it and potentially getting stuck in Nashville for 14 years unless he knows more. This is all speculation, but losing Voracek would scare me. Of course at the end of the day, we are talking about Weber, so sometimes you got to do what you got to do.
  11. What's up everyone Nittanyflyer from Philly.com here- too pumped to sleep after that game Seeing what we've seen this year would you consider a Schenn/Couts for Richards/Carter trade straight up?(basically same trade no Simmonds or voracek) I know a lot of you are probably going to disagree, but I think I would take that trade. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan of simmer and jake, this is purely for the sake of argument Anyway... Thoughts?
