    Firstov was rather noticeable the last 3-4 games.  Looking comfortable, showing off his on-ice vision.  I wish he'd take the opportunity to shoot more than he did.  But he looks very skilled and fast enough to be a possibility next season if he had a good training camp.

    Beckman had 3 goals (1 each) in the last 3 games of the season.  Even though by the time he got back the team was out of the playoffs and was probably disappointed by being given much of an opportunity he still came back, played hard and made an impact at the end.

    I agree. I like both players. They are merit to play in NHL. Like I said before, because they play hard, skilled and they are persistent in their production. If they can produce at least a half of point per each game then they will have a solid value for the overall Wild team's stats which we need a lot. Hope they will have a nice individual training in the Wild club during entire summer like Rossi did last year. Or maybe they will be able to develop some chemistry during that time too.  Rossi's progress was evident in 2 seasons , in my opinion and in the opinion of my co-workers , just because of additional personal training with coaches during off season. And maybe Kaprizov will find some time to be involved during their training too? I am sure he is not planning to go in Russia during the summer and will spend a good portion of time in Minnesota. And he likes practicing a lot during off season.

  2. At least the Iowa Wild team finished their season on a winning note. They had a win over Grand Rapids Griffins (score 4:1; Wallstedt was a star #1 for that game by stopping  31 shots out of 32) and they also won over Chicago Wolves the last game of the season (score 3:2; Jack Peart was a star #1 of the game with his 1st AHL goal; Beckman was a star#2 of the game with his 19th goal of the season and Firstov had primary assist to that goal). What do I like about Beckman? Good size player and his consistency in production. For 3 seasons in a row he had 33-36-34 points with the Iowa Wild team. Same I would like to say for Firstov. He is a good size player and has a good culture of consistent production in his career when played and for the Waterloo Black Hawks; and for the University of Connecticut; and for the Torpedo; and for the Iowa Wild team. In the last 10 games with the Iowa team he had 4 points (2 goals(one of them was shorthanded); 2 assists;+/- +1).

  3. Filip Gustavsson

    2022-2023 season;

    39 played games;

    GAA 2.1; SV% 0.931; 22-9-7;

    2023-2024 season;

    45 played games;

    GAA 3.06; SV% 0.899; 19-18-4;

    Huge difference in 2 seasons.

    Marc-Andre Fleury

    2022-2023 season

    46 played games;

    GAA 2.85; SV% 0.908; 24-16-4;

    2023-2024 season;

    40 played games;

    GAA 2.98; SV% 0.895; 17-15-5.

    Not huge , but still a drop in 2 seasons.

    Simple takeaways from this presser...

    "A lot of inconsistencies"

    Defended Marcus Johansson a lot

    Said the team is mentally fragile

    Hynes and Guerin felt there is a lot of things to work on

    Trades, Free Agents, Draft...going for it for next season and not just waiting until Cap hell is over...

    Said rookies / young players are going to have step up and take spots occupied by vets and encouraged them to do it, or at least push for it to push the vets to be better.

    Brock Faber played with two broken ribs the last month

    They should make this forever rule. Why they didn't make this strict rule at least 10 years ago? If vet is less producing, then place him on a bench to think more how to play better and where. It seems we need to miss playoffs few years in a row to make after a more evident progress for the team. 🤔

    losing  Star Wars D GIF by Disney+       ...this is the wild way

    Entire world media was saying this regarding our loss. 5 on 3 we were not able to score, but the same Kraken player was able to make a record by placing 2 shorthanded goals in our net. We showed practically zero motivation to win on our home ice to make our fans happy for the last game of the season by placing at least 6-10 goals in Krakens net. Wild loss.

    I don't know what the rules are for bringing players back and forth so much. Kicks off a season or something?
    Either way, It was odd to have those 2 with PP time and Gogs playing so much down the stretch.. Last hurrahs maybe? :P
    It was obviously a disappointing season but it was to be expected.
    Lots of change needed next year to start building something real...If possible.

    Everything is possible in a smart organization. Actually Gogs played with Guerin together. It seems they are  like brothers.

    Anyway. Thank you ClusterChuck of being here as one of the most active fan at this WILD forum!!! And thank you for everyone who found the time to be involved in discussions regarding our WILD team's play for this 2023-2024 season!!!!!

    That was going in

    Entire season we were talking about this. Not capable to score enough goals. For this goalies we needed to place at least 4-5 goals per game like Tampa did entire season. Especially was minimal production from 3rd and 4th line. Why did they put to play Gaudreau and Johansson tonight? And for PP too. Do they merit this? Definitely something should be done with those players. They should put or Walker; or Milne and or Firstov for this last game. Why for other prospects they always find money and not for those prospects? So many employees from my work came to arena to see such a disappointing game. I feel very very sorry for them.  Ridiculous/ absurd with all that organization.

    By the end of the reg season, They almost always ends up that way. Makes sense.

    Since Fleury resigned already, It's not the 'farewell' game... I'd start Wallstedt tonight instead.

    For most players doing their last game, They'll either have a Loss or Hoist the Cup.
    But I forgot about if not making PO's you can end with a reg season Win.

    Like Coyotes did yesterday in their last game in Arizona against Oilers (win with a score 5:2). They are moving to Salt Lake City. And probably we will see hockey there in 5 years.

    That's too bad. Few will remember someone getting 69 goals while someone else joined the elite club of reaching 70 same season. :P

    That is true.

    In my previous message I 'd like to make a small correction for Kucherov's stats. According to hockeydb.com he has for this season 144 points (44 goals; 100 assists). Anyway he joined the elite club of players who was able to make 100 and more assists per one season. Only 4 players in NHL history did before him: McDavid, Gretzky, Lemieux, Orr.

  10. This is the last game #82 for us (team and fans) in this 2023-2024 season. I only expect on home ice a win from this one to have for the team 40 wins; 90 points and a little bit better goals differential, but not -11. An interesting observation for the playoffs teams in Western Conference , none of the 8 teams have negative goals differential but have a nice positive goals differential. And all teams who didn't make the playoffs at Western Conference have negative goals differential.

    McDavid just the 4th player to record 100 assists in a season.

    The last one did Wayne Gretzky in 1991 (122 assists). And Kucherov reached that mark this season  too (2nd round draft;58th overall) and has for 2023-2024 season the best record in points 146(45 goals;101 assists). Sadly, but Matthews was not able to reach 70 goals mark this season( and has 69 goals). Lightning didn't allow him to do that last game, when he placed total 12 shots in opponent's net without at least 1 goal.

    Yeah but need to add a number in front of that 7.

    We had mentioned if Gogs had a 'Play me X amount of games' Contract.😁 Seen a lot of him lately and rarely Mermis anymore.
    Given how the season was going and after the streak after the ASG, Might have been nice to see more of the youth then instead of later.
    Always the chance of finding some Gems and chemistry and who knows if they made the PO's then. Just sending out a scrambled lineup of the same ingrediants wasn't going to have us go far anyhow.

    Really need to find a way to remove Mojo and Freddie. At least Freddie looks like he tries and wants to do well unlike Marcus.

    Okay,  Okay, How about 77 out of 82? 🤔😁
