Betting Kap is playing injured since his crash with the boards against Winnipeg. Haven't seen his explosive first step since then.
At least not the same way as in the last season.

Anyone think that if Beckman keeps playing well and if Greenway can't find a fire soon that we might jettison him for Beckman who is younger, cheaper and likes to shoot the puck a helluva lot more?
Willing to bet that Greenway gets traded and Beckman takes his spot during the season. Greenway just reminds me of Coyle way too much.

Wonder what Guerin would think of him picking up a superstar and everyone putting the team in the middle of the pack still...?
One or two superstars won't cut it, just ask Edmonton.

Just found out that next season our prospect team is going to play 2 games in Chicago, but in 2023 we will play home 2 games again. And also both teams are going to play soon at Traverse City tournament, which will take place this year. Last year it was canceled because of pandemics. Our team suppose to play 4 games in 6 days there. Of course , always hope for our win and discovering more talents for our team during different tournaments.
Wild and Chicago aren't going to Traverse anymore, they broke off from it and have formed their own prospect showcase for the time being.

Funny how he returns right after Parise and Suter buyouts.

Benn is a serviceable 6-7th defender. Plays the role well enough, stay-at-home D with grit.
Sticking a good prospect into that spot is a waste, unless you know the prospect in question isn't going to be better than a bottom-two defender.
Better to get top minutes in Iowa.

Cant find anyone that wants to come to Minny
Probably because they won't get term here with our two buyouts. I mean, nobody in their right mind would go to a team that gives less term/money than the other ones.
We need a 1C the most, but I wouldn't want to wreck the future for Eichel.

Seeler is also available it seems. Would give Wild some snarl in the backend.

Ink wasn't even dry on the buyout notice and Broad Street Hockey was banging the "Suter to Philadelphia" drum.
Seriously, it was "Breaking News" at 11:41AM and that article went up at 12:57PM.
Taken from comment section:
Minnesota Wild connection with CF? Check
Defensively responsible? Check
Able to model correct D behavior for young D-men? Check
Shorter contract than Hamilton, but longer than Jones? Check
Right-handed? No (can’t have everything). As long as it is no more than 6*4, this would be a win. A big win. Sign the contract the day after the draft, CF. Maybe even protect JVR.
And first response:
Point three is important.

The posters from Finland that would come in and shame us for knocking holes in any Finnish players game at any time even if it was obviously something they needed to improve on.
Luckily I wasn't a part of that posse.
But yeah, sometimes the homerism was bad, especially the Koivu fandom.
Nevertheless, finns weren't the only fans suffering from rampant homerism. Oh, the good ol' days.

Oh gods, the whole 'message board mafia' debacle. Still remember that.

Whatever happens, it's been fun. Go Wild!
On a sidenote: hope Wild win just so I can rub it in the face of my coworker, he loathes the Wild.

Whitecloud seems to get his butt handed by any Wild player; first he gets tumbled by Kaprizov a while ago and now Moose sent him to the stands.

So who's going to be our Mr. Game 7? My bet is on Eek or Foligno.

Thanks for the read, LiG.
I'm just gonna say that Wild has played well over my expectations this season. I honestly thought we were going to miss the playoffs this year so I was more prepared to watch and keep track of individual perfomances instead. Like hoping Kap having a good start to his NHL career (has been even better), Dumba having a comeback year (sadly hasn't happened) Talbot doing OK behind our defense (he's been great even). Stuff like that.
Never did I see Eek score as much as he's done, Brodin is so underrated and now he's even shooting now and then. Didn't see Parise benching coming either because history. Zucc having a good year, guess the surgery helped and Kap obviously. So many things that have surprised me positively.
Here's hoping that we come back to Minnesota with a 2-0 series lead!

Can we tempt you guys with Parise? He's good value! Promise!

Ken Boehlke following VGK called this in a 10KRinks podcast:
He said Vegas has three problems that the Wild can use to it's advantage:
1. VGK has trouble finding depth scoring
2. VGK scores its goals from a longer distance than the Wild
3. Pietrangelo has been a disappointment so far for them
This win couldn't have been better in frustrating VGK.
Same points the Vegas' beat writer wrote about a few days back.
Biggest difference was that vast majority of Vegas' goals came from the slot while ours were more spread, with most coming from the goal area (aka scrappy goals).
Also our bottom-6 is much stronger than theirs.

When was the last time we've done well against the Blues? 4-5 years ago? Like we're Vegas' weak point, the Blues are ours.

What a joke! What the .... is the NHL doing!?! A fine, when one would need to make him never play again. Bring back the enforcers or protect the players. ****** Bettman won't get it until someone kills Wilson or Wilson kills someone.
Wonder if our Foligno could pummel him a new one.

No time to sit and relax though, fight to get that home-ice advantage in the playoffs.

Kaprizov is exempt due to him being a 1st year player
