  1. I had a total rupture in December and the surgery was not adequate. Being a bit older & having had injections for the tendonitis that preceeded it, obviously we dont heal like 26-30 year old athletes with tears in parts of the achilles that are less susceptible to re rupture I just had a total reconstruction by the same doc who did Mezaros a few days before me No way 11 weeks. I think I will plant a seed in the docs mind during my followups to hold him back, maybe I will slip him a few $$$, LOL He is going to be compensating for his back surgery recovery on top of this. Man he really needs to take his time.........
  2. What I pay in taxes to help support people who are not paying their share of real estate taxes and other means of revenue required of working citizens is bad and going to get worse. Without making this a political discussion, I am weary of this manure. Too many people with expensive tastes, McDonalds burger flipper mental capacity at best and more interested in sneakers, hos and bling, guns and destroying their hearing blasting ghetto anger driving in Toyotas with big wheels that spin with junkyard fenders in primer. The last thing I will support are millionaire players calling for a communistic wealth sharing so they can have more jobs for franchises that are on corporate welfare since they cannot generate enough income to compete. Hockey is an expensive sport to play and it was an elitist sport to an extent as well as a geographically defined sport before indoor rinks became more popular, It silll is , by heritage of activity passed down from generation to generation Not one dollar of revenue from teams that are profitable should go to mismanaged and hopeless franchises. League wide revenue sharing is fine, but no sharing of teams personal wealth from local tv/cable, concessions, parking, boxes, tickets etc. Filling arenas with cheap tickets to get the 80% level for revene sharing is criminal. I hate the players for putting forth that proposal, I hate the owners and Bettman too for their positions, especially all the have nots who are Bettmans power base I have said this before. I hope there is a lockout that breaks this league apart and it comes back contracted, where the strong survive and there is no coprporate welfare. Without Bettman, Phoenix and a host of lingering bedsore franchises in hospice care. Hockey will not succeed everywhere and they should stop trying to force it everywhere.
  3. Dr Raikin is operating on me this Thursday for the same injury, my re-tear- some real irony there. Wonder if I can get a word in about Mez before they put me under
  4. i would be happy as a pig in XXXX if the league folded as it exists now and contracted with only viable markets and no little sisters of the poor. The quality of the teams goes up, fewer jobs and boo hoo less millionaires paid for by teams/fans in other cities Eliminating all the mistakes and changing league leadership -including the commish, his idiot minions and campbell, shanny and the morality less competition committee may mean hockey decisions and rules based on the wishes of the players and the good of the game, not for poor franchises or attention deficit disorder casual (at best) fans These lousy franchises drag down the profitability of the entity as a whole Its like going out to dinner every day with people who can never pay their share of the bill but have plenty of money at home
  5. screw equality in revenue sharing The profitable franchises are already sending $$ for corporate NHL welfare to the bottom feeders Pro sports franchises should not exist if they cannot survive on their fan base and shared COMMON income from national sources Why should Flyers ticket revenue, parking, or other direct income from Flyers fans go to prop up franchises who are on life support or dogging it to get draft picks and get preferential treatment from the commissioner. The game is in markets that cannot survive strictly on their own merit and we have had this discussion for years Expansion was only agreed upon in the 1990s as Bettman promised a huge tv deal No TV deal FA salaries went through the roof LOCKOUT AND CAP see where that got us? The NHL has loaned $$ to how many teams the last season to survive and owns a franchise that has lost more than $150 million Lets get real,. if I cant afford something I dont buy it and screw billionaires or corporate entities who own teams and collect $$ from other teams to support their teams who wont be supported regionally. I really dont care if Phoenix, Miami, Tampa and Nashville move or consolidate and the cities end up with minor league teams The one thing none of you speak about is the NHLPA members acceptance of expansion into loser markets so they have more jobs. Neither the NHL or NHLPA is really are being really transparent about this. Its all about Bettmans fantasies and the NHLPA wanting more voting millionaires and jobs in their organizations even if the teams not financially viable due to demographics and ownership s
  6. I think its great Shea Weber was in town clandestine/stealth, would have been great if Doan would have done a stealth visit too, but hey then there would be nothing for me to read. I just worry about getting too thin up front. Lavvys system IS NOT a defensive system and Bryz is like the weather in the tropics. Then again, Holmgren did make some comment about the system for next year
  7. I always referred to him as being in the movie SOLARIS-a cult Russian Sci Fi Classic remade with George Clooney here a few years back. Torture yourself and watch the original with subtitles and then you will see where Bryz is coming from.
  8. I am in on the "let the team develop" mode as well It would make sense to get a Doan or Ryan without breaking up the core And as posted previously, with Timmo coming off the books, Weber can take that cap space. The big IF in the future is IF we have the brilliant Bryz of March before his injury (going along with better protection) or if we hear & see more "Ground Control to Major Ilya on Solaris"
  9. Hopefully the Wild get Cap strung after these signings. I really dont give a hoot about any other teams success except the Canes & the Flyers when they are not making stupid deals ( that limits my time for certain) Any team that cant pay their own way shouldnt exist , at least the Wild have something to insure financial viability for a while. If anyone didnt think this was their plan all along I have Phillies 2012 World Series tickets for sale.......... Adios from the Eastern Conference, welcome to world of fatiguing travel Zach
  10. Pods I agree with you and 2nd that suggestion remember the cliche-One mans trash is another mans riches. Think:Patrick Sharp JVR was an awkward & inconsistent fit I dont know what to make of Bob. But again he was signed as a free agent, right> So we did not lose anything except his "potential" But really with a recently frequently injured & inconsistent player like JVR , 2nd overall pick or not its a gamble on both sides and a good hockey trade. If Luke Schenn becomes as good as Coburn, but with a mean streak its a huge win. Think about how many first round picks have decent careers and play more than 3-4 years as regulars, without even geting into stardom. Then look at how many 1st rounders are busts and end up in the AHL for life? The only other thing that could happen is some kind of pick laden deal for Bobby Ryan, but if you have the cap space for Doan, he would look great in this uniform and probably do better with the reduced travel schedule Did he get along with Bryz????????????????????????????????????????
  11. 4 days and stringing the teams along Going home to hide out Giving an interview that ends up on the rumor site Why talk to anybody except the GMS and your agent and your family/fiancee/dog/ or garbage man? This whole process is revolting, manipulated, more like some Diva than a hockey player Boy, what the hockey world wouldnt pay to wire tap these guys over the last few months and potentially find out the collusion and how staged this is. I hate to cast stones at fellow Americans, but do you think someone from Smith Falls Ontario or Wilcox Saskatchewan ( who went to Notre Dame there and came up through that hockey program) would be pulling this frelling nonsense? ( Reference to Farscape 4 letter word there) Hope they both have lousy overpaid cap strangling remainder of their careers on a Western Conference team that never makes the finals
  12. see my shout, its a ploy to weaken the competition by tying their hands so they dont sign other UFA's and keep news going another day
  13. coming out from hiding for this they dont deserve to exist they are 177 million in the hole and having issues with being able to meet an $80,000,000 payment due soon. the league loaned them $10,000,000 to make payroll this season The same thing for the Yotes, 2 teams the league are keeping afloat that are not financially viable Yes fans, the money you pay for your teams stuff goes to keep the loser franchises afloat If they had a parade in Newark you would have to wear surgical gloves and carry an automatic weapon to attend
  14. I have suffered with this team since the post cup years, through the fixed cups for other teams, through the idiocy of trading the teams future for Lindros , through a carousel of goalies and systems and always a day late and a dollar (or loonie) short Today I threw out everything from my 33 years of amateur hockey, the photos and memorabilia from countless trips to see minor league games and some NHL games across the region and some in Canada. I have no more emotional collateral left and am abandoning the game I used to love All they really want to do is suck you in to spend money on a product with a prearranged outcome. There is already death and taxes and old age and disease so who the frack needs Bettmans NHL? This city has been forbidden from winning a championship, they have been blackballed since they defeated the Bruins and Sabres Adios Amigos
  15. IN MY OPINION To be brutally honest, every time the topic of the Cup comes up, those of us long in tooth go back to the fixed game 6 vs the Isles in 1980, the coke using Oilers who were not suspended in 1987, the su*ck a zz officiating vs Tampa in 04 ( and the same fate befel the Flames in the SCF that year) and the way the Wings were hosed in 09 so the orchestrated Cup for Pens could happen to go with their marketing plan of Cindy. The league has been determining the outcome through the officiating and acts of omission in enforcement of conduct over those years. I think Snider cries crocodile tears as along as the arena is full and the drone fans are blindly spending $$ and now with Xfinity live yet another money grabbing venue in the complex of sports palaces. I love the game, hate the league and frankly Phoenix is still owned by the league right? That means Bettmans minions are pulling the strings for that. AS far as I am concerned if its not our year, the league could disappear and they can all go work in McDonalds or Tim Hortons
