  1. There are certain players who should leave the fighting to those Goon type players on the team and McDavid is one of those. MacKinnon is also one of those as well. Then there are players like Matthew Tkachuk who is a goal scorer and can mix it up. So there are some that can do it, but the real big names shouldn't be dropping the gloves. Even Alex Ovechkin who dropped Svechnicov that one game even though Andrei is not a fighter at all. Ovechkin also should not be fighting.
  2. McDavid is not Sidney Crosby who takes a hit and crumbles and cries. He can take a hit and that can even turn his game even up an extra notch.
  3. This player is probably a later round selection and won't go as high as the 5th pick, but Forward Jack Devine from the University of Denver is someone a team should keep an eye on as he is a very skilled skater and a good play maker.
  4. New played the hell out of 40 minutes and then disappeared for the last 20+ minutes. Tough loss for them and a steal of a win for Carolina on home ice.
  5. The guy is the next Connor McDavid. The speed, the puck handling skills, his hands his mental game at such a young age. Whichever team ends up with him in 2023 is going to have an impact player for many years to come.
  6. The header of the post says the chalk is Colorado and Tampa Bay. Well I guess I am going with the chalk then. I have Colorado defeating Tampa Bay in 7 games.
  7. Just like the Rangers/Carolina series this series offensively is pretty even. Defensively I would give a slight edge to Tampa Bay and the goalie goes easily to Tampa Bay. The experience in the playoffs has to also go to Tampa Bay here so the records aside the series easily looks like the Lightning should take this series. Now, I don't think this is going to be easy for the Lightning but I do think they will take the series in 6 games.
  8. Here is a series where the match ups seem pretty even until you come to the goalie. This series is when Shesterkin has to shake off all that was rusty from the last series and show why he is going to be the Vezina Trophy winner. That along with the defensive play by Adam Fox, Trouba, and Lindgren and the offense from Kreider, Zibanejad, Panarin, Kakko, Chytil, and Lafrenierie will get the job done in 6 games.
  9. I know, I meang that they swept the 1st round series over Nashville and then won last night. Meaning they have yet to lose a game in the playoffs. I do feel however they will lose 1 game in this 2nd round series to St. Louis , but win the series in 5 games. I probably didn't explain that very well.
  10. Jake Oettinger played out of his head in the 1st round. What Mike Smith brings is a ton of experience and a lot of time in the net. He will need a lot of help from his defense which I think will step up because I feel the offense will give them time to settle in. McDavid and Draisaitl are going to work some magic to ease some of the tension off the Edmonton defense and Mike Smith.
  11. On paper the Flames overall are the better team , but when a team has McDavid and Draisaitl and add Yamamota, E. Kane, Hyman, Nugent Hopkins, Nurse and even the old man Mike Smith. McDavid is on a mission to take the Oilers deep into these playoffs and he will carry them on their backs in this series. Edmonton will grab a game in Calgary and win this series in 6.
  12. The Avalanche will lose their first game of the playoffs in this series, but only 1 game. I don't see St. Louis has the advantage anywhere on the ice. Colorado has the better goalie in Kuemper even with the black eye, the defense is better especially with Makar, and the Avs offense is explosive at times. If we get picky we can say St. Louis has the playoff experience over Colorado. That might get them one game in the series.
