Was just curious why Toronto is never mentioned. According to Capgeek they have plenty of cap space and they desperately need a center. But yet the only teams I heard mentioned were Nash, Fla, and Ott. Is it maybe cuz Vinny won't go there so Hextall didn't even make the phone call for that reason?

The only way I trade schenn is for E Kane. Or another winger with similar upside and age. So if winnipeg will take schenn and say grossman for kane....sign me up!

i dont really care about upshall one way or another. but i would do him for vinny straight up in a heartbeat. then vinnys albatross of a contract is gone and we only have upshalls crappy contract for 1 season. would be a brilliant move on hextalls part if he can pull it off. a perfect world would be fla just taking vinny for a pick. but something tells me fla aint taking vinny without sending some money back

Just read that it;s expected that on July 2nd Vinny will be traded for upshall. They are waiting til then cuz Fla doesnt want to pay the 2 mil Vinny has coming to him on July 1st, Not sure if anyones eating salary or if draft picks are involved. Gotta say I am all for it if its true. Not because of Upshall. He's nothing but a 3rd liner on his best day. Not because of salary this year cuz vinny makes 4.5 and upshall 3.5. Thats kind of what I was thinking. Toronto needs a center badly so any deal would have to include Vinny. Does anyone know Phaneuf's yearly cap hit and contract lenght?

this is just a theory of mine. not saying its right or wrong or if I even want it to happen. But here it goes. It's been widely speculated that the Flyers have been kicking the tires of Phaneuf's price tag from Toronto, And all of us here know about the hatred Phaneuf and Hartnell have for each other. Could today's move of Hartnell be a precursor to a Phaneuf move? Like I said just thinking out loud. have no idea if Phaneuf's salary can be fit in or not.

I will be rooting hard for our boys today but the Bruins are just down right scary good. No weaknesses.The optimist in me says 4-3 Flyers. But the realist in me says 4-2 Bruins. Can someone convince me that we can win today?

I have heard no rumors tying him to philly but this is just my opinion. According to what i read the flyers have about 2 mil in cap room. If they trade away mez and his 4 mil they could fit hemskys 5 mil (not certain on that cap hit). Just my opinion but i think he would be a good fit with G and Jake. Have no idea what edmontons asking price is however. If the price is right, what does everyone think?

Call up McGinn. Put him on the 4th line. Then put Raffl with Read and Couts. I really like Raffl and think he would be a perfect fit on that line. I really don't want to see Downie play another shift this year.

Jammer....please tell me 1 d-man who wouldnt be a defensive liability in Buffalo. You could put chara, weber, keith, etc on that team and they would all be on the wrong side of the plus minus. And edler has 1 back injury..1! The guy has played in at least 75 games in every season hes been in the nhl but 1. (excluding last year where he played 45 of 48) Since the start of the 2007-2008 season he has played 409 games. Has 203 pts. 50 goals 153 assists. thats basically 40 pts a season avg. Yeah your right, he sucks.

I agree. I have no idea what his cap hit or contract length are. Flyers would be best served taking a pass but you just know Homer will inquire. Seeing as Weber wont be available I would love to see if Edler out of Van, or Ehrhoff out of Buf could be had.

This should make for a very interesting trade deadline. What do you think Stevie Y's asking price will be? Probably way to steep for the Flyers but you can't help but play the "what if" game. But if the Flyers make a "big" trade I would much rather it be for a top pair d-man rather than 38 year old St Louis

Yes they will make the PO's. How far they go is anyones guess. It depends on who they draw and more importantly how Bryz is playing. If he plays like he did against SJ, I truly feel this team has a chance to go far. If he plays like he has most of the season, then they will be gone in 5 or 6 games in round 1.

The only thing I know of Stoll (this is what i am hearing from other people) is that he's damn good on face offs, is a good penalty killer, and has heavy shot as a PP point man. All good attributes but I am confused like you guys. Not sure how he would fit with this team.

Just read on Hockeybuzz, not Ecklund, but Kings guy Matthew Barry that the Flyers are pursuing Stoll. What does everyone think? Not a bad depth guy IMO.
