  1. Great synopsis Michael.....And all so true.I do not post on here much as i'm just too busy but i read the forum ,enjoy the way it is run and enjoy the posters and their posts a ton. I myself have been alive since the beginnnig of the Flyers, having enjoyed cutting school to go to 2 amazing parades and the connection the city had with those Flyers. It always seems other than one or two seasons that we are always missing a few key players due to injuries and we always do not have a superstar in net. Those are the reasons we have not won one since. Six in a row in the Finals is quite an feat for any team to have lost.Could you imagine if the Eagles or Phillies had done that. The national media would be all over that, but we continue to support the Orange and Black.I was glad when "THE TRADES" were made last year and the future really does seem bright.I knew that the Pen series set us up for disaster cause they played no defense and so we started playing out of character, making passes you usually wouldn't and starting bad habits as to how to attack and so on. May this team mainly grow together and maybe just maybe we can have a year where we are truly healthy for the entire playoffs.
  2. A wasted great effort by Bryz last night
  3. Although I was happy knocking out Cindy and the Pens,I felt that no matter who we faced in the second round that we would find things much more difficult.Although the Pens were very talented offensively, they provided the Flyers with no fight defensively and it was way too easy to score on them.it was almost embarrassing to watch the swiss cheese defense they thru at us.Now we have a "team" less talented but playing as a team and a team that still has a goalie who can still win youa game or a period when needed. The intensity needed to play playoff hockey is not there for the Flyers. plus give the Devils credit as their philosophy verses us is non stop pressure and very very strong forechecking.Only way to counter is long accurate passing that puts pressure on their back line, forcing them to withdrawal all the forechecking they are doing.Look how many times we held the puck or was forced back behind our net just to reorganize and try to make an offensive push. The Devils have been nothing short of amazing all buying into this system versus us.Next serires they may play a whole different system ,but this one is surely stopping us in our tracks.
  4. I agree with the previous poster in many ways.Maybe its an aging thing.I still want them to win but it does not ruin my night or day when they don't.I guess the highs aren't as high yet the lows are no where near the low I use to feel.Part wiser, part so use to the failures of all our Philly teams that I am prepared better for the eventual outcome. But I do want championships, they are just no longer at the top of my priority list that I use to put them....BTW How many SCFinals have we lost in a row since we did win it in 74-75. Is it six or was the Chicago loss number seven. That streak in itself is quite unfortunately amazing..
  5. Great 4 Part Series.... It's not that we lost the WC, but its the fact that so far this season ,we have no answer for the Rangers or for that matter Henri. We somehow must figure this out if we have any chance of doing big damage in the playoffs. With that said, at this point of the season I am very happy and excited by what this Flyers team has accomplished. Many thought this was a year of no playoffs or struggling without Richards and Carter.I think we got very young and we got better. Let's hope for the best...............LET'S GO FLYERS
  6. as of 130 am thurs morning i can't seem to find 24/7 part 2.Am I missing it or is it not in the video section yet. Thanks for all your great work out here.Much appreciated and Happy Holidays to you.
  7. i was thinking the same thing during the game.Plus with the boards all miked up you notice it even more. But what a waste of time.It distracts no one. Its like the fans who wave their arms before a field goal in football or a free throw in basketball. What a waste IMO
