  1. I have a feeling this game is going to be worse than Scott Hartnell's haircut. The Flyers are going to lose badly.
  2. He doesn't get off scott free, but he isn't the problem. At least he isn't a top three problem, for sure. Their scouting, talent evaluation, AND their prior GM..and what the hell, I'll throw in their ownership (Comcast and maybe slightly Hilferty), Alumni and maybe even Gritty.. are the problem. He's doing a pretty good job with what he has, and I knew he wasn't going to be the best coach for a young hockey team. He has exceeded my expectations with this bunch somewhat, honestly.
  3. You spelled Celebrini wrong. (I'm saying there's a chance lol)
  4. He sounds like a JVR clone. Pardon and forgive me, for not being excited.
  5. It probably was the right move, and Walker not being here isn't the main reason for the Flyers struggles..by ANY stretch of the imagination. I don't think it's a total coincidence, however, that they've struggled more defensively and offensively since he was traded to the Avs.
  6. They shouldn't have traded Seeler (thankfully, they didn't) , but I would have lowered the reported asking price on Laughton.
  7. Spectacular. Yours is the Comment Of The Day.
  8. No, it would NOT have been different. The one time we beat the Penguins, we had an almost equal amount of talent. We needed more talent to beat them on a consistent basis (and win CUPS..which is the ultimate goal, isn't it?), not more play like that..which would've gotten Flyers players suspended, and made us into a "goon squad". I want to beat them on the scoreboard.
  9. Tortorella wasn't the right hire to begin with. He works better with a veteran filled roster. That being said, this isn't on him. Yes, you can and should be able to, push the players hard. The players are making a lot of money, should be motivated to improve and if they're not..then the previous GM and our scouts need to share some of the blame, along with those players themselves. If they are too sissy, lazy..or both, to respond to adversity and coaching, maybe hockey and the NHL isn't right for them. I know they're young, but you either have "it", or you don't. If Tortorella gets fired, I'm going to be really p*ssed.
  10. Meanwhile, Sean Walker will win a Cup, because he's an ex-Flyer (Yes, he's on a damn good team now, too.).
  11. They're making Slavkovsky look like the second coming of Jaromir Jagr. Hat trick.
  12. Nobody near that little ball of hate Gallagher, to prevent him from getting to the front of the net for the tip. 3-0. This team is toast..burnt, moldy toast.
  13. Suzuki with a heck of a cross ice pass to Slafkovsky. It was only a matter of time, with the way things are going and the fact that the Flyers cannot finish and bury any of their 16 shots.
  14. I'll say it again. This team needs a finisher. It's great they get so many shots per game...they have to bury them.
  15. There were rumors that Toronto and Vancouver would give up a first rounder for Risto at this past trade deadline..(not a bad haul, ehh?) , but the Flyers would have to retain 25% of his salary. Here we go again, with that retaining salary crap, because they overpay for players.
  16. I have ZERO confidence in the Flyers being able to win tonight, which they must do if they have playoff aspirations. Man, how things can change in a month.
  17. I don't love the years on the Seeler deal, but that's far from the biggest issue the Flyers have, regardless of whether they head to the golf course in April or May.
  18. Keepers Couturier Tippett Foerster Farabee Brink Seeler Drysdale Poehling Hathaway Sanheim Ersson (maybe)..though I'm going to look for a starter this off-season. If I can get a boatload for players like TK or Risto, I'd do it. Talk Atkinson into retirement. I hope Briere can find a way to address their cap situation. I'm tired of having no money available to improve the team, significantly. Damn..it would have been nice to see Michkov in Orange and Black, next season.
  19. They're not just soft, though at times I think they have been that. They're tired, not that collectively talented in all honesty, and the young players are getting their feet wet. They are finding out what it takes to win hockey games down the playoff stretch run.
