Look at our first pair and compare it to Trouba and Fox.

Trouba is playing 3rd pair minutes right now.

I think Makar/Towes is the most dynamic top pair in the league.

You're right, York and Sanhiem aren't near those guys. But then who is?

Fox and Trouba aren't my top anything unless we're talking cheap shots (Fox) and Elbows (Trouba) Actually I like Trouba-but Fox can **** off forever.

Did you see your boy Noah Dobson got abused last night for the game winner? Good times, Martinook made that whole team look stupid but Dobson really got tooled and I'm here for it.

York isn't finished developing, he's 23, a baby. I'm expecting him to get better.

Dude played almost 30 minutes a night with a bad shoulder, and was the best player on the Flyers for most of that time.

I think there's more to that kid's game, I like the pick of him over that little Caufield **** every day.

  2. I absolutely loved how the NYI became unhinged and the parade to the penalty box started.

I'm glad Carolina tried to score on the power play after the empty netter because that was a completely bush-league move by Palmeri to be the second guy in on Guentzel after he took the whiny baby slash from Brock Nelson.

NYI is losing in the most embarrassing ways possible and that warms my cold dark heart.

Ha, ha.  Danny Briere is one dumb mfer.  Maybe he was scared some team in Outer Mongolia was going to outbid us for the future superstar.

Is Fedotov is going to be the new Morin? A huge player that Flyers fans will insist is going to be good despite all available evidence that they are a gangly mutant who can't play.

maybe it's 3d chess and you're getting your wish of bottoming out.

There's a silver lining in every cloud.

  4. I'll add in his presser Drysdale said he expects to be 100% next season.

How much of that is hockey-player bluster or does he really believe it?

Availability is perhaps the most important ability. I understand that.

I don't view Drysdale as a lost cause.  Could be along with his frontal lobe, his bones finish developing as he becomes a man in the near future and this time is looked back upon as literal growing pains.

I think this Flyers coaching staff has done a great job with the defensive players in the organization. See Seeler, Nick and Ristolainen, Rasmus both those guys have become real life boys with Brad Shaw's tutelage.

I'd like to see what that Drysdale kid with all that talent can do after some decent coaching.

    Andy Reid, is that you?

I don't all the way disagree with what you typed- just wanted to make that joke.

I think you're right about selling at the peak value; I think maybe those carrots are cooked.

But the window for Laughton being moved should still be open, he is an expiring contract and has a game that a contender may want at the deadline next season.

If the Fedotov signing is any indication, it could be the team is looking to scrape the bottom of the barrel for upcoming season. Unless  82 comes out and shoves Ersson back to 1B.

Maybe the return isn't as spectacular, but his cap hit, game, and FA status may make him a desirable trade target in 24/25.

  6.

That feels like tandem goalie money to me. I guess someone must really like him.

I'm pretty sure he's not as bad as he was in his lone start.

He had been in the US for less than 2 weeks.

I liked what I heard from him in his presser way back then, I don't think playing in the NHL is going to be too big for him.

The question is does he have NHL ability or is his relative success mostly a product of his size?

I'm interested to see if his game takes off with some coaching on the NA rink and some experience playing on one.

Is this a signal that the Flyers are bottoming out next season?

Bill Matz is pretty funny and I find him likeable, he'd be a delightful addition to our forum.

He's pretty typical Flyers fan with how hot and cold he runs on any topic on any day.

I do appreciate his passion for the team and when he puts on the "fan" hat he's at his best.

Charlie O is who brings credibility to that group. He's been my favorite team writer for a few years now. He's well prepared, he asks some good questions in pressers and I think has the trust of the current management group.

He relies on analytics to support his opinions and that's fine with me, it's not all he uses though.

I'm not sure what else needs done to signal rebuild, to be honest. The roster has turned over by nearly 80% since the bubble.

Bottoming out hasn't happened deliberately, but I'd say earning the 5th pick and then the 7th pick was the organic result of some terrible hockey.

The team needs more guys like Kyle Conner, Artemi Panerin and Josh Morrissey.

    I heard what you heard.

I also heard, "we're open for business" and that it's "too early to tell" about which guys they may target.

They need to have talks internally, and they need to watch Lehigh in the playoffs etc.

To me he sounded like a person who is still gathering information.

It is pretty easy to see the coach and GM were conflicted by the season's results.

Not having the juice to make something from nothing and a terrible powerplay cost this group a playoff berth, I know we're not the only people who saw that.

I got the feeling from Danny he sees the team as being farther away from cup competitiveness than "almost there".

Also after watching the Avs/Jets series....this group of Flyers aren't beating either of those teams 4 times. That's a @radoran metric, it's a good one. TOR/BOS, LVK/DAL, LA/EDM should be viewed similarly.

Hell, this group couldn't beat a bad Pens team, a bad Islanders team, or Montreal coming down the stretch. That's not what championship teams do. If he steps back for a moment, I have some faith that Danny will see that too.

    what @BobbyClarkeFan16 said.

I believe I heard Buffalo was once  interested in Laughton,  a young player who is "stuck" would be an excellent return in a trade scenario.

If Buffalo thinks "a Laughton type" helps them get over a hump maybe a trade could happen.

Not everyone in the league has the jaundiced view of the Flyers players that the fans do.

Frost is cheap and controlled for one more rfa year. He might be appealing to a team that has salary cap concerns.  Maybe a 2 + Frost and the fact the NHL and CAR hosed the Flyers on DeAngelo provides the right atmosphere to put Necas on the table.

I've read that the Flyers are looking to gear up and see about the availability of guys like Necas, Rossi, Krebs, and Zegras this summer.

Just two of these guys would increase the skill level enough to where some the young skill the Flyers have on the wing could really improve too.

It's an interesting time to be a fan of this team.

I have no idea what they have planned .

Both coach and GM say they need more skill in their exit pressers, so I'd be surprised if the roster isn't different next season -and maybe significantly so.

  11. This was a lot more competitive than I was thinking it would be.

Maybe the 'Canes just don't have it.

The Islanders should have won that game. Anderson wasn't good by any stretch, the Islanders shots were right at him.

If the Canes don't get it together they're going to be at home before they're ready; and then what happens to them with their salary crunch? Big changes everywhere?

  12. This group of Leafs is one of the most talented they've iced in 50 years.

I still don't think thy have the playoff guys to advance beyond a round. As much as I like Matthews,  Marner, and Johnny Pajamas I don't think they have the defense or the toughness/skill combo in the bottom 6 to win the cup.

I picked Boston in 6, I know they're not setting the world ablaze with their play lately.  They have had the Leafs number in the playoffs, I don't see where Toronto has made any adjustments to change that narrative.

After what happened with Nolan Patrick, I don’t know how Briere even took a chance on twice injured , frail , small guy like Drysdale. We already have a dman just like him, minus the injuries in Cam York.. Gauthier was a #6 pick, so I would have asked for Anaheims pick protected as long as it wasn’t the#1 pick, if it was the #2 then we throw them something else. I don’t believe that was the absolute best offer out there,.We got robbed. I hope we unload Drysdale to move up in the draft before he becomes Patrick the second. He’s a p u $ $ y.

Well ****, all that based on less than 30 games. You got some lottery numbers to share?

You're certainty about this comes from what information?

The fantastical scenario where Anahiem gives up its 1st pick happens how?  because you'd "alpha up" on the trade partner or something as looney?

    Who had the leverage?

Where is your info from or is that scenario what you'd do on Playstation?

Your post is a bunch of ill informed nonsense. But written in an authoritative way, to seem like you knew better then and certainly know better now.

Your insight is usually way better than this garbage.

Drysdale's had one season in his last five where he was healthy, and Jiricek has had one season in his last five where he was injured.

I'm hoping that he outgrows the injuries.

It's happened before.  Justin Williams was a good example for this.

He was injured frequently in his early career also. He wound up having a pretty good career.

Wasn't that guy injured during his draft year?

    It's Jiriceck right?

He had a bum knee, and it was serious like missing most of his season serious. I'm remembering this correctly yes?

Funny to me how that guy gets a pass- but Drysdale? he's damaged goods.

    Is it a size thing?

Not trying to start a row or anything but I do question if I'm remembering it right and why I perceive this difference.
