  1. personally for me I don't care what language its covered in....all that matter to me is that I get to see the games without having to buy the center ice package.
  2. I'm breathing a big sigh of relief knowing that I will still getto see all 82 games plus playoffs....on the other side I realy feel bad for my fellow Hab fans living out west. So TSN passed up on bringing back TSN Habs but I know for a fact that they kept TSN Jets.....what a bunch of ******* idiots!!!
  3. http://www.montrealgazette.com/sports/Habs+fans+happy+with+schedule/9966973/story.html By Pat Hickey There aren’t too many Canadiens fans who are happy with the television schedule for the 2014-15 season. Fans in Quebec and points east will be well-served with all 82 regular-season games available, but the days of one-stop viewing are over. There will be 22 national games, mostly on Saturday nights, on TVA Sports, while the remaining 60 games will be offered in a regional package on RDS. But anglophones and francophones living west of Ottawa are not happy with the new order because they will not have access to the RDS package. “We have a large number of subscribers in southern Ontario and in Western Canada and they won’t have access to our signal because we’re designated as a regional package,” said Domenic Vanelli, the vice-president of production for RDS. “For many French-Canadians, this will be the first time they won’t have access to Canadiens games in their own language because we offered the games, and before that they were available on Radio-Canada.” Vanelli said disgruntled fans might create enough pressure on politicians and the rightsholders to effect a change in RDS’s availability, but he didn’t hold out much hope. “There’s nothing we can do, it’s business and it will be like that for another 12 years,” he said. Some francophone fans outside Quebec will have access to TVA Sports as an add-on to their cable or satellite packages. Rogers, which controls the national NHL rights, offers TVA Sports on its cable service, but it’s not currently available on Canada’s other major cable provider, Shaw. RDS also played a role in promoting bilingualism in the country because many anglophones outside Quebec subscribed to the channel to fill in the gaps between the team’s appearances on Hockey Night in Canada and on the TSN main network. There will also be fewer English-language telecasts available for anglophones in Quebec and Eastern Canada. There will be 18 Saturday night games available nationally under the Hockey Night in Canada banner and another 13 games on City TV or Sportsnet. That’s about the same number of national games as in the past and there will be greater access to those games in Ontario and in the West. But there will be no English regional package as there has been in recent years. TSN and Rogers both passed on the regional package because it didn’t make sense from a financial point of view.
  4. I love Markov but at his age hes not worth that kind of money and the term is way too long.

  8. I have wanted an heavyweight enforcer ever since Darren Langdon left, we finally have one Bring on the Bruins
  9. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=427051 The Montreal Canadiens added some much need toughness to their roster on Friday. The club acquired forward George Parros from the Florida Panthers in exchange for forward Philippe Lefebvre and a 7th-round pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. The 33-year-old played 39 games with the Panthers last season, posting one goal and one assist with 57 penalty minutes. Parros will provide the Canadiens with some much needed size up front, and will likely take the burden of fighting off of undersized forward Brandon Prust, who regularly had to fight against the other team's heavyweight's last season. In eight seasons, Parros has 1007 penalty minutes in 452 games.
  10. I'm not one bit happy with this signing, the last thing the Habs needed was another small forward..I don't what the Hell Marc Bergevin was smoking when agreed to this contract.

  13. I could care less what language the coach speaks....and as for RC, I think hes going a great job and I hope our new GM keeps him around.
  14. Son of a B*tch!!!! he'll regret that decision next season when hes rotting in the minors.
  15. http://m.torontosun.com/2012/03/04/gomez-out-indefinitely-with-eye-injury Gomez out indefinitely with eye injury Scott Gomez may have played his final game in a Montreal Canadiens uniform. Gomez suffered an eye injury during a scrum in the corner in the third period of the March 1 game against the Minnesota Wild. The Canadiens said it will be a few days before doctors determine the exact nature of the injury but he is out indefinitely. Gomez has two years remaining on a contract he originally signed with the New York Rangers, but he’s not expected to return next season. There is an outside chance the Canadiens will be able to trade him, but it’s more likely the team will buy him out or bury him in the American Hockey League. With the salary cap going up once again in June, the floor will also rise and Gomez might be attractive to a team looking to fill cap space. Gomez’s contract is front-loaded and he is owed $10 million over the final two seasons, but has an annual cap hit of about $7.3 million. One obstacle to a trade is Gomez has a limited no-trade clause in his contract, and he balked when the Canadiens tried to trade him to the New York Islanders. The Canadiens, who fell to the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-1 on Saturday and next travel to Calgary to face the Flames on Tuesday, can save some cap space if they park Gomez in the minors, but they would be on the hook for the full $10 million he’s owed. If they buy him out, it would cost them $6.67 million but they would take a cap hit of about $1.6 million in each of the next four seasons. Gomez’s production has gone steadily down in each of his three seasons in Montreal. He had 59 points in 78 games his first season and a career-low 38 points in 80 games last season. Injuries have limited him to 35 games and he had two goals and eight assists for 10 points. The injury has provided rookie Louis Leblanc another opportunity to play in the NHL. He and Andreas Engqvist were recalled from Hamilton after Gomez and Aaron Palushaj both suffered eye injuries in the Minnesota game.
  16. I hope your right....the more games the Habs lose the better chance they have at getting new GM a top three pick at the draft.
  17. http://www.nhl.com/ice/preview.htm?id=2011020993 Flames aim to grab key two points from Canadiens By Brian Hunter CANADIENS (25-31-10) at FLAMES (29-25-12) TV: RDS (HD), TSN-HABS (HD), SNET-W (HD) Last 10: Montreal 2-7-1; Calgary 3-3-4 Season Series: Second and final meeting of the season. Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 35 shots and passed Mike Vernon to become Calgary's all-time leader in wins by a goaltender in its 4-1 victory in Montreal on Oct. 13. Big Story: Sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings with seven teams they would have to climb over in order to make the playoffs, the Canadiens are looking at playing the spoiler role down the stretch this season. This is the type of game where they could inflict some serious damage on the postseason hopes of their opponent. Team Scope: Canadiens: The month of February all but finished Montreal's chances of playing beyond the first week of April, as the Canadiens went 5-8-1 and lost their final five. After recording a shootout win at home to put a crimp in the Wild's chances in the West race, the Habs were unable to prolong the recent downfall of their Original Six rivals the Maple Leafs, who dealt them a 3-1 loss Saturday. Erik Cole gave the home team a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes, but Toronto came back to salvage Randy Carlyle's debut coaching the team after Ron Wilson was fired. "There were a few breakdowns, but we kept them to the outside," defenseman Josh Gorges said in the Montreal Gazette. "(But) we didn't spend enough time in their end. We didn't stay strong on the puck and it allowed them to work their transition game and come at us with good speed. They lost a few games in a row, they fired their coach, we knew they were coming." Flames: In the seven games since beating Los Angeles to temporarily move into eighth place in the West standings, Calgary has posted a 1-3-3 record and slipped down to 11th, three points behind San Jose. The Flames have also played two more games than the Sharks. They began a stretch in which they play five
