  1. @sarsippius, he meant back when we traded richards for simmonds and schenn, and carter for vChezk and couts, if we only got schenn and couts back for richie and carter. not to go all political, but man i would vote for holmgren 2012 president. what an awesome GM he's been.
  2. well i hear MAB is day to day with an injury so maybe gus will get the nod friday. i hope kubina can pull it together. he needs to be out there using his body and shot to our advantage.
  3. Beautiful guys, your words are dead on as far as im concerned. going on the playoff scenario, i think that the division winner should be guaranteed a playoff spot, and nothing more. the atlantic and central division have dominated the league for a while now, and yet here we see them in seeds 1,4,5,6, instead of 1,2,3,4 like they deserve. it should be the best 4 teams getting home ice. i still think if you win the division, you should be rewarded with a guaranteed spot. and when it comes down to it, i cant remember when a (the southeast) division winner didnt have at least enough points to get a playoff spot anyways. thats really the only thing i wanted to add. everything else has been said.
  4. what i hated the most was that mikalik (however you spell it) just faced the boards the whole fricking time. i wouldn't be surprised if that team has private practices of how to make hits and such look worse then they are. that's why they called that hit. in the old NHL mikalik would have passed it off and faced the guy and either take the hit, or pull a forsberg and given it right back. in fact, anyone remember the kind of abuse that guy used to take and he never said anything about it. i cant remember hearing him say one word. those type players are slowly disappearing sadly.
  5. Foremost the reason why people hate Crosby is because of his attitude. there's been players in every sport who have been well liked by even rivals because you can have respect for how well they play because they just work hard and don't ask for favors or calls to go their way. i think if crysby looked at the **** he took his first couple years as other players competitiveness and took it like a man instead of a "kid" then i think we wouldn't be talking about him right now, maybe cooke or orbik those losers. and malkin too, i have seen more crosschecks to the back of players by him then anyone else. this dude is taller then almost everyone he faces yet he has to give out cheap shots like that. Cherry and Torts are right, the respect for players has really dwindled in the last decade or so. its a shame because ill admit that the penguins have a hard-working team for the most part. i think Staal is a great player (i never hear anyone talking **** about him) and some other guys, but its the cooke's and malkin's and crysby's that just ruin it, and make it that much sweeter to beat them.
  6. @PuckMeister, you have a valid point. it seems overly optimistic, but so was even making the playoffs in 09-10. i think the only real test of all teams in the east is the rangers due to the flyers incredibly poor record this season against them. i think the flyers match well against every team in the east and if they were to play the rangers, if they can put what happened in the season behind them, i think they can make a real run for the playoffs. i think grossmann will be key and getting meszaros / briere / jvr back could really help our already strong team. i think the wild card will truly be the rookies. they have played well in the season, but how will they adapt to the playoffs?
  7. senators scoring will suprise the rangers in 6 ovie will play strong in game 7 to lead caps over bruins in 7 panthers with the excitement in finally making the playoffs and a strong home record beat devils in 7 flyers with best road record in east and strong depth will overcome the pens in 7
  8. @ HansonBros17 im with you on your picks, except im going with Kings in 7. i think Quick being in LA has less pressure on him to play well then luongo has in a big canadian market. i think with a fresh start LA will get more scoring as a result and being a philly fan i know Richards will help that group and they have a very strong defense. canucks tho are good enough to win in 5 if they get off to a good start at home. Kings in 7 Blues in 5 Coyotes in 6 Predators in 6
