That's why I put the LOL so you knew I was laughing WITH not AT. I honestly don't think the Pens will go far, but not because of Fleury again this year. Lack of offense last year. And they're having trouble scoring again...
@pilldoc No need to apologize bud. I think a lot of us defended him when he started with the elbows and knees because he'd had no history of it. Now it got him traded from Malkin to Fisher...
I get your thinking Jammer I just hesitate to assume he's going to exceed Neal's production until it happens. I expected Hossa to tear up the league on Sid's wing and got zilch. Just trying to measure what we know rather than potential. Not saying it won't happen, just cautiously optimistic.
@pilldoc I'm not okay with Neal's departure. I might become okay with it IF Hornqvist scores 30+ goals. I said quite readily I don't think we got enough back for Neal. But like I said at the time I'm okay with his attitude gone, but not his shot.
Hardly justifies the sudden criticism and loss of support. Makes me wonder if its a knee-jerk to his being shipped out. Hartnell is a better player than Umberger recently despite his problems so all but the two years favors Hartnell. And I'm reading a lot of people happy with this trade. Just going with the flow??
I gotta say... Anytime I went after Hartnell there was an outcry about what a great guy he is, what a locker room presence, a guy who scores the dirty goals, pays the price, does whatever it takes, etc etc etc... Where'd all that go? Lol. The Nibbler is gone...
I see Umberger as a downgrade from Hartnell. But the shorter stupid contract is a bit of an offset. I had no idea MacDonald's numbers in those categories were that bad. That's pretty tough to argue.
@yave1964 Neal > Hornqvist But Hornqvist will go to the tough spots Neal was afraid of. So we'll just have to see what that becomes. Jokinen was no great loss. Dupuis is a much better player and his presence on Sid's wing will more than offset the lack of Joker on Malkin's. The loss of Glass especially is a plus. Add Spaling and Comeau and we're a plus. Loss of Niskanen hurt, but Erhoff should offset that pretty easily and an even there. Orpik wasn't the man he used to be. Like I've said before I am a big fan of his, but he needed to go. He's a 5/6 guy now at best, and I'd much rather he go so Depres or Bortuzzo get the ice. So in my opinion the team got a pretty good upgrade overall.
