Check out McGillin's ale house on 13th and Drury St. (which is a 1/2 block from Chestnut St.).. I believe it's Philly's oldest bar. Good beer on tap, plenty of TVs and decent crowd. Advice is not to wear the Blackhawks jersey though...

Agree 100% with RJ...no sense sneaking into the playoffs and getting swept out of the 1st round. I would rather see this team sell off some of the veterans for some assets. If Hartnell and Timmo were willing to waive their NTCs, I would love to package them to a contender for something. Think we can net a return of a solid defenseman prospect and a #1 pick? I don't think trading Mez gets you anything more than a 4th or 5th round pick in return but I would think moving Grossman can get you a decent pick (#2 ?) or solid prospect. Unfortunately, Luke has no value right now...I would happily include him in any deal to sweeten the pot for a nice player but I think the Flyers give him one more year on the team before they cut their losses with him. I also think that B. Schenn or Coots get traded in the off-season in a package for the defenseman that this team covets...I can see Yandle of Big Buff in orange and black next year.

Unfortunately the Flyers have no one else to step up this season. I think this was the blueprint from the outset...they did not bring in a serviceable back up and the plan all along was to play Bryz 90% of the games and then make a decision at year's end on whether to buy him out or not. Granted, most of us could have made the decision based on last year alone but maybe Holmgren was hoping Bryz's play from March of last season would carry over to this year. Anyone else want to see Ben Bishop in a Flyers uniform next year? Wouldn't cost you as much as Bernier.

Don't think Kimmo + gets you Bernier (unless the plus includes a number 1 pick and/or highly regarded prospect). Bernier is highly regarded despite his limited playing time behind Quick. I think there will be a number of teams in the hunt for him and that will drive up the bidding. However, if Kimmo was willing to waive his NT clause I wouldn't mind trying to pry Ben Bishop out of Ottawa for him. With Craig Anderson cemented as #1 and with Robin Lehner in the system, maybe you can get Bishop...assuming the Flyers buy out Bryz at season's end.
