It was Giroux scoring on the last penalty shot against the Yotes after OT solved nothing. I know cause directly after that I checked my boxes for the playoff pool. I selected all Flyers and Habs in the East and all Sharks and Hawks in the West. Of course, those were the 4 Conference final participants...I swept that thing and won a cool 1500.00 Especially ballsey picking Philly and Montreal, ranked last and 2nd last!

The main driving force behind the Kings 2 Cup wins was certainly Quick playing out of his mind. Either Errson makes a gigantic leap forward (possible) or another Goalie steps to the forefront. This coming draft is vital after the Gauthier crap and Michkov uncertainty....they HAVE to nail this LARGE.

The D looks ok...passable on paper, but there is something to be said for continuity. A big reason for their success is how the defensive partners play to each others strengths. I dont hold out hope for a long sustained playoff run, but at the same time, it would be a shame for the season to turn into a **** show. Seeler is way more valuable than a 3rd. I think Seeler-Zamula might make a nice pairing should Walker get the boot (90% chance). Im thinking a 2 year deal for 2 mill a year would work for both parties. No long term investment and you know exactly what your 2 mill is buying.

I've recently read the Flyers are busy negotiating a new deal for Seeler. I'm quite happy with this development. Its the perfect way to stay competitive this year without sacrificing the rebuild. 1)Seeler will come cheap and I'm sure it will be a 1 or 2 year deal...totally acceptable. 2)They keep a key defensive piece that plays blood and guts Flyers hockey. 3)He realistically would have netted a 3rd...maybe a 2nd..more valuable to just keep him. 4)Assuming they move Walker having Seeler stay means the Defense won't take a crushing blow. 5)Its a great story and shows other FAs that hard work in the Flyers org gets rewarded.

Thats why Florida has such a huge advantage...no State tax. Seems like a throw in kinda thing, but when you start talking 10 or 15% of multi millions, its a huge advantage...not to mention the weather and women...lol.

Dale has been through this process so many times its crazy! He knows EXACTLY when the light switches on for a prospect...in some cases, I'm sure within a few periods. If Barkey played for anyone else, hes drafted a few rounds later. Its his skill, but Hunter opens the door of opportunity. A BIG thing to leap over kids and take minutes away from established Knights players during the playoffs.

I tend to agree with those rules. They are more than reasonable. Hopefully, Barkey becomes one of the exception to the rules!

Just part of the problem, but the D at the point really lack strong lateral movement. That is essential for opening up passing lanes.

It is pretty amazing. The Hunters know how to draft, trade and perpetually renew a roster! Literally everything they touch turns to Gold...very frustrating as a rival, but thankfully the Spits are no longer a division rival, thanks to the influx of American teams.

Just hard to put up amazing stats when you are not on the top line or top pp. With those big dogs removed, Barkey is 3rd in OHL scoring, leads the OHL in short handed goals with 7 (was not on the primary pk last year). Kids upside is first line C...but a more likely role is 2C or 3C. You can't put a price on wicked non stop effort...or where Torts will slot that non stop effort in the line up.

This is pretty misleading. Points Moose Jaw team was horrible. A lot easier to be a great player on a God awful team (21-44-3), getting all the top line, pp minutes etc. Barkey's Jr team, the London Knights were indeed a powerhouse, with strong Memorial Cup aspirations. Hard to put up huge stats when you have strong proven vets in front of you blocking the way. London's record was opposite of Moose Jaw's (44-22-2).

Not directed at anyone in particular, BUT I find it both appalling and disgusting how a few months of winning Hockey somehow erases 1 playoff series win in 14 years. TRADE ALL ****** THINGS that can someday return the Flyers to an actual top 5 team...LIKE OUR HISTORY DICTATES. Fans that give a **** about Walker and Seeler forget the COMPLETE AND UTTER SHAME OF BEING A LAUGHING STOCK. Those two are tools to reach THE goal...nothing more, nothing less. In 2 or 3 years Cooter MIGHT be a serviceable 3rd line checking Center. We don't have a Clarke or Brindy....****, we don't have a Ken Linseman type of Center. All expendable parts should be moved to grind...scrape our way to a 1C.

Outside the box thinking needed. Trade picks and or players to move up...York and our 1st...Frost, 2nd rd, our 1st...stuff like that...2 1sts and a 2nd ....etc.

Agreed, the right solution is needed, but neither you nor I know for sure that this upcoming draft is not "right". Just because it comes first does not mean its not the way to go. Both Lindstrom and Catton are legit 1C's...totally different players but both oozing with talent.

They can certainly find a 1C in this draft. Lindstrom may be out of reach, but Catton is an offensive dynamo and is mocked from 7 to 11ish. The more I watch this kid, the more interested I am. Even Lindstrom has been mocked as low as 10...doubt he slips that far, but WAY better chance we draft our own 1C than acquire a veteran in a trade.

Thats why this trade deadline is so damn important! Secure enough draft capital and you can move up to secure your 1C. Starting to read some good stuff about the top Cs in the 5-8 range.

Legally...no. Pretty sure the wink nod goes on here.....after all, although no specific future prize has been settled on...they both know within reason...approximately what the future can be. That can be ballpark...picks, prospects, players.. cap space etc.

Make the trade future considerations, with Benn being the futures after the Cup run? Just spit balling.

That late line change came at an inopportune time, allowed the Leafs to gather momentum into the Flyers zone, leading to the winner. Yeah...3 on 3 is stupid.
