    his cap hit is 6.3, but his salary is only 3mil due to his front-loaded contract. Carle will probably be gone, but he had good value for a 3.5mil cap hit. Also I would give it more than a 50/50 shot Jagr comes back for one more season with the kids.

    among the US's biggest cities & sports markets (Boston, NY, Philly, Chicago, Detroit, St Louis, San Fran, LA), Philly certainly is the loser of the bunch. But given that we win every once in a while, we are certainly a level over cities like Buffalo and Cleveland, which are true loser cities.

    we chant crosby sucks even though he has almost 2ppg against us. and has a cup. that being said obviously 1/2 those devils fans are only there for the playoffs. when the flyers score its almost as loud as when the devils score

    in my head i would think the Flyers could take this in 5. But i feel like Jersey will end up winning at least two games, so I'll go with Flyers in 6. Also given the week layoff, the Flyers will probably come out flat in game 1.

    there are a couple more picks on that page since you took that screenshot, and one person has now picked the Kings, but still just one pick for the 'Yotes, and no one picking the Caps or Devils. Do they make up their own minds or just all sit in a room and come to a consensus? I guess looking to the network that wanted the NHL to pay to broadcast games for respectable hockey coverage is the first problem...

    i really wasnt trying to comment on any other of either teams goals. i was just referring to the hockey play in OT that resulted in a goal.

    did anyone else think that was goalie interference on the OT winner? not enough for a penalty, but enough to wave off the goal. Knuble went into Thomas halfway deep in the crease with no help from any defender, and kept him from making the save on the rebound. I know its the playoffs, and OT game 7 the whistles go away even further...just my observation that the goal should have been waived off(i DID prefer the caps to win this, fwiw). Thomas didnt seem to complain about it though, so maybe its just me.

    sorry to be negative, i just think were f*%&ed. we had our chance to pound them in game 4 while they were without neal and while fleury was fragile, and we came out completely flat. Bryz is playing like crap, and the Pens are getting an odd man rush every other shift with all the mistakes were making. grossman is not going to play again in this series, and fleury is now starting to play like his old self with lots of confidence. get ready to be the 4th NHL team to blow a 3-0 lead.

    the 'logic' was that he was 'jumping to brace himself for an unsuspected collision.' shanny 'bought' it, and he only got his 1 game for the giroux hit (probably the right call for that hit)

    bad hit by torres, but other than the resulting injury, how is torres hit any different than neal's on couturier? except for neal's hit being later, and farther away from the actual play?

    did you read the rest of my post or just quote and reply to half my first sentence? i said it was strange that they announced backstroms immediately since they also have an extra day. given that he was already doing hearings for 4 different incidents today, maybe he just wanted to add another to the list? as someone else mentioned, scheduling, etc is taken into account
