  1. I try and look at it from an opposing teams point of view. I really don't want Vinny or Umberger unless i'm getting them at a reduced price, and or a prospect or pick is sent along with one or the other. If I'm an opposing GM and you call wanting to unload a center you have, I'm talking B Schenn or Couturier only, if you're not willing to eat half of Vinny or Umbergers salary. Nashville have good young d-men, I'm not sure why a deal involving B Schenn hasn't been worked out between the two
  2. Can't remember his name but watched him in an interview on DNL, It was a Pre draft interview concerning the Flyers possibly moving up to the top spot and Morin. The guy is from a Canadian sports network and he said he's not that impressed with Morin. Said he lacks discipline among other things. I gotta find that video for when he's wrong, and remind him of it
  3. My heart goes out to all involved. So sad. https://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/gino-odjick-reveals-he-has-weeks-to-live-in-heartfelt-letter-to-fans-142748107.html
  4. At the end of the deal, when you dont have to pay a guy 9 or 10 million dollars thats CLEARLY past his prime. Yes you have to replace Umberger but by that time one of the kids in the system should be able to step into that role for a fraction of the cost
  5. I like the deal. Improves team speed,Defense,DISCIPLINE and gets some financial flexibility. Lose some scoring but it's a good trade off IMO
  6. He might not bounce back the same, but he should be given the chance if he's trying
  7. He can be over that. Look at Bob Probert, He served 3 months in prison, then 3 months in a halfway house and he resumed his career. If they monitor him, let him play. We all make mistakes, except for me of course hehehe
  8. I have a risky type deal for Vinny. Trade Vinny back too Tampa for Ryan Malone. Cap hit is the same but Malone only has 1 year on it, A LW. Flyers probably have to add something, unless they eat cash in the deal. If they dont eat cash, another player or picks are involved. Not sure if it will ever happen but I always liked Malone. A hard nosed, honest player who can score some goal and fight if needed
  9. I say just swap Vinny for a guy with another bad contract, change of scenery type deal. Maybe Montreal would take Vinny for a Rene Bourque type. Picks might have to be included. Chicago could use a big center, Brian Bickell for Vinny and swap of picks somehow. The Vinny deal makes even less sense for now then it did when it was done.
  10. Sort of joking. Coburn i'm really sick of and hope he's moved. Hagg I've seen play a few times and he's very inconsistent. The times I watched him, he seems to skate very stiff so I'm not as high on him as Gost and Morin. The trade offer was a joke but I wouldn't be hurt if Coburn and or Hagg got moved.
  11. Today is the 5 year anniversary of his passing. Nice write up by Bill Meltzer. Class guy who was one of my favorite flyers of all time. http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Bill-Meltzer/Meltzers-Musings-Remembering-Zezel/45/60244
