  1. I have too. I also enjoy nutrition discussions with Jeffrey Dahmer.
  2. I agree. He shouldn't have been fired. But at this stage, I wouldn't rehire him either.
  3. Okay, honest question. I'm interested in opinions. Obviously the NHL rink is smaller than over there. Setting aside the possibility that the difference in angles plus nerves didn't help him in his one game. Considering his size does the NHL ice size hurt him, help him, or not relevant? Especially in situations in which the opponent has the zone.
  4. I'd offer Laughton for Krebs + 4th rounder and see if it flies. It could even be our own pick back. They can use Laughton better than they can Krebs, and the Flyers could use Krebs offense IF he hits where originally projected. The fourth because Laughton plays more positions and situations and because the Flyers' center cupboard isn't exactly deep.
  5. Wow. I was completely sober and still missed the typo (i swipe to type and didn't realize. Probably not technically a typo). I miss the days that I could go back and edit.
  6. I'm completely with you on the Edmonton experience. I can certainly emphasize that it had to be painful. I imagine the Flyers would emulate it. This is probably why Tucson takes the position it does (aside from sheer idiocy). The problem with not going the draft route (i know I'm preaching to the choir -- actually, I'm probably the choir repeating the liturgy back to the preacher) is you end up with a team like the flyers with a room full of complementary players that are paid so much that you can't afford to go out and pay a game changer. Maybe one, but only one. So you end up with, at best, a wild card team and delude yourself into "this was a good year. My sister looked really good on our date."
  7. And still haven't won (the Cup) with him. Not attempting to pour salt; just doubling down that it's not automatic even then. But in a cap era, it's still the way to go. You're not getting there just throwing Comcast money around like it's 1999.
  8. The Utah Commanders The Utah Wives Club The Utah Tabernacle Boys Choir The Utah Pipe Organs The Utah Brass (to complement the Utah "Jazz," since this is soooooo prevalent in Utah). The Utah X, formerly known as Coyotes.
  9. In the spirit of this thread, this was my final season in Sweet 16. The Hell Bears are moving to Salt Lake City to take up pipe organ lessons from Richard Elliott.
  10. Congrats to Gulliver @yave1964 on his 23rd consecutive Lilliput Hockey Championship.
  11. Yet people still show up for Flyers games. I'd say people in Arizona are smarter, but readily available evidence says otherwise
  12. Do you think maybe our scouts or player personnel should, I don't know, have a conversation with a potential draft pick before drafting them? I mean, it's still always a crap shoot, but somehow "human resources" completely screwed up on Gauthier.
  13. It is entirely this. I've said it elsewhere. The difference between the effectiveness of the PK vs. the PP is that the PK takes hard work. Generally, Torts has them working hard and committing, so the PK shows that. The PP is about talent. Sure, hard work, but a pig will work really hard; he will never fly. You have to have the skill and then someone with the skill to work hard. The lack of skill is loudly evident on the PP and has been for several years. Until they draft and trade for the type you suggest, this will continue.
