It is odd and disturbing how many posters here, presumably men, are already projecting Hart guilty of any and all charges. This only reinforces my point that when a man is charged w sexual assault it does severe damage regardless of trial outcome. And this has already ruined 1 professional career (that we know of) but I'm sure many more.
Anyhow, I'll wait till the hearing plays out before making accusations. The only information available right now are just stories because nobody really knows anything yet. And reading grown men get emotional and angry about stories is a good laugh
Good for you. Laugh.
I didn't have much respect for you to begin with, so nothing lost

"Not culpable" and "innocent" are two different things.
A lot depends on what comes out and that will color public perception more than now.
Full, actual, and real exoneration means he probably keeps a career.
I deliberately haven't sought out details of this case because the entire thing repulses me.
I hope the Canadian legal system works well, whatever the result.
There's video. Depending what's on that video and whether it makes it to the public, this could increase the damage to careers exponentially in addition to whatever a court does.
Lots of "coulds" here

Would definitely prefer the Rusty Rail.
Agree. Though we've had a couple lousy visits in a row.
The food is always good, but the beer is okay (usually just okay). But the host staff is terrible by design and the service has been poor. We're going to eventually go back but it's close to an hour we haven't been in a great hurry. We go to State college, which is over an hour so the distance/time isn't it as much as "do we go all that way for a bad time again."
Let me know when you're back in the area.

If anyone hasn't seen The Accused, with Jodie Foster (1988), it's eerily similar in some ways.

It just doesn't seem believable.
Carter's name was being thrown around at various points about potentially being involved in this, including on this forum.
DB's presser today on this is completely underwhelming on all fronts. Doesn't know anything. Carter who?
Yeah, but I'm not sure what else he can say, you know? I'm sure he's under instruction from corporate counsel on this.

Interesting question. Probably? I will ask my lawyer girlfriend.
But let's say the answer is yes they could sue HC for damages. They'd get like 12 bucks, some Tim's donuts, and a case of beer.
If it's Molson, I think I'd vacate the case.

Sure, fair.
But I also reserve the right to blame Lindros who, last I checked, is Canadian. He's probably from London!
I'd blame Mike Richards giving UPENN coed lessons, but he was in custody at the boarder with a bunch of ludes at the time.
(Can you imagine if this site--this post-- ever came up in a Google search? If so, my real name is Steve Coates)

The years are the product of the investigative machine. Have you even considered that those in those crucial positions were trying to protect entitled athletes?
Its at the least as plausible as your argument that its a money grab
Not to mention this is a criminal investigation, not a sexual assault lawsuit.
Despite the fact half the population wants to deny this, facts really do matter.

How would I have seen the video? The issue is why we're talking about this in 2024 and not in 2018 or 2019 or 2020 or 2021...and so on.
The reality is nobody but those involved know what happened, but it is certainly convenient to state it was rape when those involved are assumedly rich. I am not saying it wasnt rape or it wasnt a crime...just pointing out the convenience of the timeline.
There was an intended joke (not a good one) that you may have missed.

We should have traded him when we had the chance. Another asset wasted.
On the other hand, the poor guy probably just has a yeast infection and here we are assuming he's a rapist.
I understand that yeast think can be pretty painful, especially in the butterfly.

I wonder who knew and how long.
I wonder if, as a result, they tried and couldn't.

It could just be an odd coincidence. The other side of the coin is Hart HAS had some recurring health issues...we shall see.
I heard he wears Polo.

I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but he was given leave a couple of days ago.
It does make a difference because there's at least plausible light between the two. Time will tell if it's a tangible difference.

Dillon Dube also on leave within minutes. Both involved in the World Juniors thing. I don't think there can be any doubt.
I mean, there can be doubt, but that's a really ridiculous coincidence.

Honestly doesn't concern me at all. He's like 70 years old and in deciding. He might add some grit on the bottom 6, but really not concerned at all
I'm a fan of an east coast team so maybe that is a factor, but i think if the Rangers or Carolina or Boston or someone has signed him I'd have been, "huh. He's still playing? I wonder what's on Netflix.."
I don't think it's that big a deal. It's a name.

The absolute last thing they need with Torts behind the bench.
What they don't need is a $5.75M healthy scratch.
Completely true.
I swear people have seen his 6 highlight reel plays and want to mortgage things for him. Someone probably will, but it won't be the Flyers because someone will mortgage even more and regret it.
I actually doubt he's moved anywhere anytime soon. It's just silly.

I guess this is fun for some, but can we keep it real?
Zegras is not in play, and if he is being moved at all it's not for that package. And extremely unlikely it's to the Flyers. I certainly don't want them moving those kind of pieces for him, and it doesn't get it done anyway.
Entire threads on Zegras coming to the Flyers and it's entirely EA Sports NHL '95. It's just silliness.
And also, I'm not giving up that package for him.
I wonder if the Oilers would take Laughton and our first for Draisaitl...

We have some time with Frost, he has to make a big jump next year just like Farabee did this year. Frost had another two point game today.
Farabee made a big jump before and was destroyed by a previous coach. It's nice to see him back.

On a weaker team like the Flyers, Frost actually is a second line center. He has 18 points in 34 games and is a plus 8. If you factor points per games played, he's our fourth leading scorer. All the guys ahead of him have been in the league longer. People were writing off Farabee in previous years now he's really stepped up. I wouldn't give up on Frost yet, we have no centers in our system and Coots is over thirty with a bad back. Even if we draft a center tomorrow, it's 3-4 years before he is any kind of factor. For the next 2-3 years we have no other options bit Frost unless we trade for a good young center and other than Hart or TK, we have nothing to offer to get us this center.
Oh, I'm not arguing to get rid of Frost. I've been a Frost cheerleader. He does seem to be learning the defensive side so moving him to wing could potentially screw some of that up (not trying to overstate that, but responsibilities in the defensive end are different). I'd keep him at C the rest of the season and see how he progresses. If not, I try him at wing before doing something more drastic.

you're really sold on him aren't you? I'm getting there...I hate that the Flyers' 2C (usually) only has 7 goals in 34 games and his assist count (11) is tied with Walker, Atkinson, Foerster and Owen Tippet the guy who "can't use his line mates." (sorry - totally uncalled for).
Frost is defending really well and w/out the puck his game is noticeable nearly every night. Hopefully he can get some production going for himself in the 2nd half.
I'd rather Frost played wing. I still don't think he's an NHL center. Certainly not a 2C. If we had an actual 2C, I'd think about 3C, but i don't see a lot of offense coming from him at center.

It's hard for me to see that Sid, being a fierce competitor that he is, genuinely doesn't want to make the playoffs. I find it hard to believe.
Well he's pre-menopausal, so Sid is going to get a little more tired and faster due to the withdrawal from sudden surges in estrogen.

Glad I'm not the only one reading it that way. Even if we prorate, still immature.
What was that a "euphemism" for again?
