The Eagles 2nd half of season collopse is tempered by the Cowgirls getting waxed at home. It's always a happy day when a turd like JJones is reduced to blather.

Most of todays NHL linesmen don't have a f&*King clue about hockey. A cheap shot like that should be left to play out. If they understood hockey they would stay out of the way and let the chicken s&*t Greer gets what's coming to him. Since the league and the department of so called player safety also doesn't get it justice needs to play out on the ice.

There are 10 or so of these guys on the planet, and 4 or 5 of them are on the downside of their careers. These dmen play heavy minutes in big boy games. Durability is an issue, the ones who avoid injury are even more special. We are already seeing wear and tear on McEvoy and Makar. The only way to acquire these guys without overpaying is the draft. The earlier the pick, the better the chances. I giggle a bit when I see Hieskenin and Makar on this board. Coulda had either of them!!

I am still in the BITFU camp, despite the season they are having. I will say that I am watching and enjoying the compete level of this group. The PP, IMHO, is missing 3 pieces. A QB at the point and orchestrator of the zone entry, a net front presence, ala Tim Kerr, and most of all a puck retriever. They are absolutely horrible at all 3 of these components. The only way to gather these pieces is at the top of the draft. And a coach who stops putting #10 and #89 on the second unit.

Risto made a bad split second decision at the blue line. No disputing that. What was even worse than that was the braindead dump in by #89 and the marshmallow soft attempt at a puck retrieval by #10 and #89. As far as #48 goes, 2 point night. Clumsy footwork behind the Preds net for his goal, the play to Coots was made by a poke check by a Preds player. Small and skilled is great, but games like last night are big boy hockey games, and the Flyers are a little lacking in that demographic. I have been watching, and the effort has been great, the goalies have been really good, but the current powerplay is a doomsday machine should they make the playoffs.

This is the result of bett turds modern day NHL. A bunch of spoiled, entitled brats skating about with impunity. Trouba knows there is no risk to this both physical and financial. I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often. The NHL needs to rename its discipline arm. Department of Player Safety doesn't really cover it.

Puck retrievals are a big part of the poor powerplay, as is the lack of finishers. No real end in sight to either of these issues. Not really sure how this group got to 10 wins so soon. Every time I tune in there is a fire drill going on in the Flyer zone.

So far this season is the same old same old, a band aid line up ensuring more years of mediocre. Finishing 10 or 12 in the conference and drafting mid round is not going to get it done. I hope Danny B has a plan, the current situation doesn't make the future rosy. Torts is a goof, thats not news to anyone .
