When will the chucktard haunting end? Whats the over/under?

I'm hoping this lineup gets them a top 3 lottery pick. Wishing for anything more at this point is a fools errand. But it is the Flyers, so anything can happen.

Plan A Atkinson and Coots have great first halves and get traded for picks, sooner than later. Plan B They both go on LTIR in October. Nothing personal against either player. If they are traded they will bring back picks. It also frees up cash to eat bad contracts for more picks at the trade deadline next March. The end goal is still lottery pick(s).

Agree 100% with Podein on this one. First, Lindros never had to have his head up until he reached the NHL. Everywhere he played he simply ran over whatever got in his way. The contact to the head is incidental in most concussions, it is a sudden stop injury. If Eric had learned to play with his head up its scary to think what his numbers could have been. Alas, we will never know. At his healthy best, he was one of a kind, before or since, just ask his mother.

Couple of things about Hart. He was anointed at a young age as the heir to Carey Price's throne. Thanks to the bett turd and his opposition to best on best, we may never know. I'm sure this would piss CH off. It would me. The 2018 issue is hanging over everyone on that teams head, until it is resolved there will be speculation and internet garbage coming out about it.. Tough on all the players involved, and their families. For those who were guilty they should own it and let the innocents get on with their lives. Finally, CH has played behind some crap and some coaches who from a distance didn't seem to develop him the way we forecast he would develop. That doesn't mean its on them, it's just what we have all seen and agree to believe. I am certain CH thought he would be further along in his career at this point, and if I was him, would probably have asked out of the hot mess in Philly. Would I keep him? Yes, he is still young in goalie years. Would I trade him for the right return, probably. I don't think this is a 3 year turn around, more like 5 if they plan on drafting in the 9 or 10 slot. If DB is planning a BITFU at the deadline next March then 3 might be doable.

We can get that by finishing bottom 3 next season. If Torts drags them to 8th or 10th worst drafting a top pair guy usually doesn't happen, and if it does you have to wait for a later pick to mature, say 26 or 28 yrs young. The whole rebuild will go better by being REALLY bad next year and the next year too. Right now there is no top pair guy in the system, but miracles do happen. Who was the last top pair guy the Flyers drafted and developed, not named Provorov?

I share your reinvigorated, I just don't want a rebuild to target slightly better than mediocre. The Flyers need 1 or 2 more top 3 picks to be legitimate contenders. As of today there are no top pair dmen and 2 1st line forwards in the system. Finishing next season picking 8th or 10th doesn't get it done, IMHO. If you are going to rebuild, then BITFU and rebuild. I for one will not be excited about losing in the first or second round. There has to be a singular goal, a hockey goal, not a corporate playoff gate receipt goal.

Honestly, I have no interest in next season, other than seeing how close to the bottom of the standings they will finish. There are half a dozen good prospects in the next draft, would be good to pick top 3. Then you are on a path to winning. 3 blue chippers. Still a lot of hopefuls just now. But progress is being made, it certainly appears a plan is in place. Now to stick to it, and not be hypnotized by the shiny toys for a few years yet. A few more subtractions to go, I'm hopeful a few GMs get chucktard stupid at the trade deadline next year and Danny B can parlay some cap space into draft capital.

There are 2 seasons in the NHL. November and May. Not sure Caufield scores at that pace in May. We may never know.

I have no beef with this. The kids aren't ready yet, do not put them in a position to fail and get dog housed by the grumpy coach. The possible upside to this is he can mentor tweedle dee and tweedle dummer (#6 & #55).

We want the Flyers to suck next season. Top 3 draft pick. Need more of these signings. Prospect pool is not that good right now. There are a couple of young guys but no top of the line up players after Gauthier and Foerster. Poeling and Hathaway won't be taking minutes from anyone who can't earn them.

The Gaudreaus and the Colfields and the Brinks help you make the playoffs. The Flyers need to draft guys who help you WIN in the playoffs. From all I have read, Ryan Leonard is the latter. I am fine with the pick.
