  1. So, as a total beginner to Ice Hockey I'm going to have to start talking about it real soon I'm kinda scared about this! So that I at least can pretend I know what I'm talking about: - What are this years hot topics in NHL?
  2. just checked on nhl.com and see: - TUE OCT 1, 2013 TORONTO vs MONTRÉAL 7:00 PM ET Is this the very first game of the season? If so, why are these 2 teams first to play - any significance in this?
  3. ok cool, so: - http://www.nhl.com/ice/schedulebymonth.htm Game 2 = Mon June 17th Game 3 = Wed June 19th So... Awards are on Tuesday 18th June? - All of them? (Except Stanley Cup)
  4. Think I'm getting the hang of this  http://www.nhl.com/ice/schedulebymonth.htm So CHI plays BOS 6 times - but the first one to win 4 times - wins?
  5. whats the earliest date a team could get to 4 wins?
  6. I think this is where I have a big misunderstanding about the game. I thought the Stanley Cup Finals was yesterday - CHI v BOS I take it the Finals are a series of games to determine the winner? The finals began yesterday?
  7. Has the Vezina Trophy 2013 winner been announced yet? I know the finalists are: - Sergei Bobrovsky Henrik Lundqvist Antti Niemi But I can't find the winner. I'm thinking the winner hasn't been announced yet - but I'm not sure...
  8. oh man, that means no nhl for 4 months! :-(
  9. When does the start date get announced? And is there a big event to announce this too?
  10. So, has anybody got a rough idea when the 2013-2014 season might be starting later this year? (sorry if this has been posted elsewhere)
  11. Thank you! Its becoming clearer now
  12. Cool! Thanks ruxpin! :-) So, why bother having Conferences and Divisions? Surely a legue will do? http://www.nhl.com/ice/standings.htm?season=20122013&type=LEA
  13. I was confused by Atlantic, Northeast, Southeast - but now I'm thinking, they make up the Eastern Conference. Likewise - Central, Northwest and Pacific make up the Western Conference. Am I right?
  14. Hey Digityman! Thanks for the link :-) NHL site looks super professional and bursting with info - its just that being a complete novice I'm having a hard time understanding what I'm looking at. I've gone to this link: - http://www.nhl.com/ice/stanleycup.htm Is that who is left? : - Hawks Kings Pens Bruins
  15. Are these the only teams left? : - Kings Bruins Pens Hawks
