just checked on nhl.com and see: - TUE OCT 1, 2013 TORONTO vs MONTRÉAL 7:00 PM ET Is this the very first game of the season? If so, why are these 2 teams first to play - any significance in this?

I think this is where I have a big misunderstanding about the game. I thought the Stanley Cup Finals was yesterday - CHI v BOS I take it the Finals are a series of games to determine the winner? The finals began yesterday?

Has the Vezina Trophy 2013 winner been announced yet? I know the finalists are: - Sergei Bobrovsky Henrik Lundqvist Antti Niemi But I can't find the winner. I'm thinking the winner hasn't been announced yet - but I'm not sure...

oh man, that means no nhl for 4 months! :-(

When does the start date get announced? And is there a big event to announce this too?

I was confused by Atlantic, Northeast, Southeast - but now I'm thinking, they make up the Eastern Conference. Likewise - Central, Northwest and Pacific make up the Western Conference. Am I right?
