Playoff Preview, Game #4: Minnesota Wild vs Vegas Golden Knights, Saturday 5-22-21, 7:00pm, Xcel Energy Center

Recommended Posts

Vegas has taken over it seems.

Silver lining here is:
Wild players are still skating hard, not folding the tents.

Also, Vegas HAS been known to let the foot off the gas a bit... and there is still an entire 3rd period to play.
Bleak, but not impossible as long as Minnesota doesn't mail anything in the rest of the way.

GM Bill Guerin has some MAJOR work to do this summer that will test his meddle:

1)  Figure out how to get a C that can win a face-off regularly

2)  Find a way to dispose of Parise and Suter before they utterly collapse as AHL players

3)  Construct a team that can WIN in the playoffs

4)  Put SOMEONE on Kap's line that can actually finish and keep him from getting MUGGED every shift

5)  Get some more BEEF in the back

6)  Re-sign the future of the team; Kap, EEK, Fiala - in that order

7)  'Flush the turds' that are absorbing CAP with little contribution

I've read so many posts about how we've dominated and even 'owned' VGK through the years. Lol.
most games 1 goal diff and are spread out through the season. This year a bit different with 2's but a 7gm series is a whole different beast.

2/3 of our players are too small or too soft to win in the playoffs.  Giving away a Tuch is a perfect example of looking for (or preserving) the wrong type of player for the playoffs.  We have 2-3 Dumba types.  You only need 1, whereas you need more than 2 Tuchs.  Greenway and Foligno are a POOR man's version of Tuch.  Rask, Zucc, Parise, Johansson, Bjug, are either too small or too soft to be the rest of the forwards on a playoff series winning team.  If small, they better have game-breaking ability (Kap, Fiala).  Otherwise - LIABILITIES.
