As we heard he died a hero - it seems this is proven to be true. Gives me hope today knowing a common person would forego his own safety for others. Not a policeman or a fireman or someone in the armed services - a hockey player.

I won't lie as a father of a 10 year old daughter and seeing the things we see on TV the news and social media it saddens me the shape the world is in and where it seems to be headed.

But this gives me hope that humanity still stands a chance. Nothing greater to be done that other man to lay down his life for someone else. I can't say enough how sad i am about this but also how proud i am of this man i have never met.

I pray for him his family and all the ones affected by this and left behind to grieve.

I shed tears after watching this and i'm not ashamed to say so.

R.I.P.
