Arizona Coyotes Acquire Andrew Ladd, Multiple Draft Picks

The New York Islanders have dealt veteran forward , a 2021 second round draft choice (60th overall from Colorado), a 2022 conditional second round draft choice and a 2023 conditional third round draft choice to the Arizona Coyotes.

The 35-year-old last played in the NHL during the 2019-20 season, appearing in four games, scoring just one goal. Ladd played one game with the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers this past season.

Ladd still have two years with an average annual value of $5.5 million left on his contract.

Over 950 career games with the Carolina Hurricanes, Chicago Blackhawks, Atlanta Thrashers/Winnipeg Jets and Islanders, Ladd has tallied 249 goals and 289 assists.

This move is likely all about the picks for the Yotes.
Ladd's money is probably just going to be LTIR'ed and Arizona will try converting the picks into something resembling contending type players.

Then again, that HAS been the Coyotes' overall issue.... getting good players, then getting them to play as such consistently at the NHL level.

Throw more darts at the board, hope at least one comes up bulls eye...
