I'm pretty sure that the bruins are going to lose a D-man to Seattle in the expansion draft, and quite frankly, aside from McAvoy and Carlo, the bruins defense sucks...

The bruins forward core is aging, and there does not seem to be a "next sure thing" in the farm system other than possibly Studnicka and Swayman, so i'm hoping the bruins find a few diamond draft picks...

I'm going a wee down the draft board abit and hoping they select Ryan Ufko, he'a tad small for a d-man, but he's commited to Umass and will play under Greg Carvel in a solid system, and he'd be a close watch under bruins eyes.

Cole Sillinger is a goal scorer and would look great centering the Bruins in a few seasons, but i don't think he'd be available at # 20

Bruins Select Fabian Lysell 21st Overall In 2021 NHL Entry Draft

 July 23, 2021

Bruins select Defender Ryan Mast 181st overall

SkyonAir  41 mins ago

And so, a player leaves the Black and Gold, only to join the...Black...and Gold.

Hey, whatever works.

The Bruins have selected Defenseman Ryan Mast from the Sarnia Sting with their 6th rounder.

Mast is an enormous, 6’4 and 190-pounder from Bloomfield, Missouri who actually had a pretty strong season with the Sting last year, only to watch his current season get completely eaten alive by the pandemic, which stinks quite a bit, because otherwise he might’ve been able to get more interest.

From Ashley Glover of Recruit Scouting:

...Mast has a very translatable style.

Whilst he may not have a high point ceiling; his ability to transition the puck effectively and the one-on-one defensive play should continue to elevate as he matures and sees greater competition.

Mast is a great natural athlete and hockey player, but foremost he is an intellect; something that is VERY apparent on the ice.

Mast is one of the most dependable and responsible defenders in this class, he’s often tasked with big responsibilities and shows that he’s capable of problem solving and out-thinking his peers.

Welcome Ryan to the Black and Gold!
