ruxpin
NJ almost seems to be in "win now." Based on what? I guess Caufield replaced Tatar in Montreal? https://www.tsn.ca/new-jersey-devils-tomas-tatar-montreal-canadiens-vegas-golden-knights-detroit-red-wings-1.1678148
TropicalFruitGirl26
Hard to believe Montreal couldn't find a spot or the 4.5M to pay Tatar even if they did promote Caufield past him on the depth chart. Tatar is still a very good player, won't blow anyone away, but puts up offense, especially on the PP, at a decent rate, isn't a big defensive liability, and has the NHL chops to say, "been there, done that" at 30 years old. I'd compare Thomas Tatar's playstyle and contributions to TB's Alex Killorn, or now that he is in NJ, he can also be compare to another similar former player of theirs, Kyle Palmieri when healthy. Good signing at a reasonable cost for the Devils.
