I know some here won't like this but Brassard was one of the best forwards of the game. I thought he played very physical and didn't make any bone head plays that I saw

I thought this as well.

I've heard he's enjoyed his time to train this summer and is feeling rejuvenated.

Took a few minutes to shake the rust off, but guys looked pretty decent.

The Islanders are hard to play against, I hope the Flyers model that vibe.

In the 2nd and 3rd periods especially I thought the Flyers played pretty well.

I agree about Ellis, I think we're going to really enjoy watching him play.

The times 94 & 9 were out with 28, 14, 11 were hopeful and I thought the specialty teams looked much improved, or at least different enough to find some success during  this season.

Yeah was pleasantly surprised to find this streaming on ESPN+ last night! Score!

Don't have much to add that wasn't said. Totally agree about Brassard! I think he's gonna slot into this lineup just fine!....

Hart looked solid in his 2 periods. Made some good stops. Ellis looked like a top D man. I hope Konecky finds his next level this season. Didn't notice him much last night except when he was in the box....TWICE.

Anyway, great to see flyers hockey again!

Two things I didn't think to check this morning but will note now.

Brassard was 13 for 19 in faceoffs and assisted on Zamula's goal.

So even better than I thought.

I know.

REPORTED!!!!

If he keeps this up and brings a positive veteran presence to this team, I will be more than happy to to be humbled and eat some crow.

I've got no words but .....WOW.   Dude has some serious art talent I could only dream about.

Absolutely cool goalie mask.  I love how goalies nowadays personalize their masks.

And with Laczynski done for the year and Allison maybe too well they may just need Brassard and Thompson more than we thought on top of an already out Hayes.

Guess we'll see.

So looking at the practice team for today i noticed Elliott Desnoyers is the only kid with the main team at 12:30 i wonder if it is something to take note of.

If so good for the kid.

So Seeler (i don't like him in Sami's #24) a Minnesota guy (shocker) is your 7th.

And even no Foerster so he maybe headed back soon.

Could Desnoyers earn his #91?

Not sure if i will make it to the game today since i will be starting early and watching college football all day (while enjoying some refreshments) but i'll give it the ol college try...

7:00 pm game in Philly.

It's Flyers regulars vs Caps "B" roster plus Kuznetsov and Samsonov.

Expected lineup, which could end up being the season-opening lineup, sans Sandstrom and including Hart.

I'd hate too see Sandstrom outplay Martin Jones again.

Giroux-Couturier-Konecny

van Riemsdyk-Frost-Farabee

Lindblom-Brassard-Atkinson

Laughton-Thompson-Aube-Kubel

Provorov-Ellis

Sanheim-Ristolainen

Yandle-Braun

Jones

Sandstrom

The Boston game should be the last mixed squad game i would think and take the last two to dress the NHL lineup to get ready to go on a long road trip starting on the 15th in Vancouver.

This sounds stupid to me

It sounds like he must have heard something about Patrick and what he was going through.

So I'll wait to see what this all is even about.

Hopefully we'll hear more about it.

I see guys like Hayes, Yandle, and Brassard *wanting* to play for AV again.

If there are other shoes to drop, Lehner needs to drop them or shut up.

Yeah, I saw the Patrick connection. My take, Patrick is a whiny bitch. Glad he's gone.

Lehner hasn't exactly NOT been whiny during his time in the league.

He's also never played for AV so I don't know what "receipts" he may have to show.

And I don't miss Patrick at all.
