You need a playmaker in there and a defenseman to anchor the PP units. I'd probably go something like Farabee - Couturier - Allison - Hayes - Sanheim for the first unit (the big money needs to be justified and they'll be plugged here). The second unit should be Frost - Tippett - Brink - Foerster - York. Size is on both units,  there's speed to both and plenty of skill.

Yes , we do need a legit PP dman and a playmaker at center for our PP. We should start giving Frost lots of PP time and work him into the lineup as a PP specialist. He has made some nice creativr plays like that pass to Sanheim a few games ago. Sanheim has the most natural offensive vision of all our dmen, he should also be given lots of PP time for the remaining games.

Yeobastank isn't smart enough to think like that. After all, did he not say culture trumps development?

I really really hope I am wrong but I see Konecny being fazed out by next year's trade deadline. I just feel it.

If he struggles to score next season I think he gets packaged out in a deal.

And whispers of then maybe moving Ivan too?

I could see them both in a package maybe even as soon as this sumer.

Then with Vegas cap problems in pickup the phone and try and swing a trade for Shea Theodore who struggled this year too.

That would give a guy to replace Ivan with.

As I said I hope I am wrong because Provorov is one of favs.

I wouldn't be surprised if we trade Konecny.  Our top offensive prospects  are all right wings..Foerester, Tippett, Brink and Allison and we have Atkinson, so Konecny may be traded at the draft. I think it's a mistake to trade Provorov,  the team just gave him way too much responsibility.  Playing 30 mins a game, being on the first line PP and having a different partner every other game. If Ellis comes back, I think you will see the Provorov of a few years ago return.

Yeah I hope they hold hope that Ellis can help ease some stress on the kid and get him back to play well like he was with Niskanen.

You never know with the geniuses running the club.

An aggressive retool scares me.

I don't think Ellis is going to play again. I think his injuries are more severe than what's being lead on by the club and I fully expect a buy out or remaining on LTIR until his rights are traded or his contract expires. The fact that the Flyers have never specifically mentioned what the injuries are or what surgery he's having is what has me thinking he won't play again.

Yeah you wouldn't buy him out you just LTIR him Nathan Horton style.

Yeah hard to say with him since they won't tell us anything about it really.

I want whatever is best for the player and the club.

Maybe that's why we hear rumors they want Petry. I guess he is gonna be Ellis replacement. I just hope we dont trade Desoyners like someone talked about. To me if your gonna trade Desoyners, then why not offer Desoyners, Konecny and someone else for Chycrun. We don't need another old player who will start to breakdown before the team is even a contender.

Desnoyers is going nowhere. If anything, Petry goes for a mid round pick so that Montreal gets the cap hit off their roster. I doubt Philadelphia looks into him. If the Flyers move Provorov and Konecny, they'll get a good defender out of the deal. Starting to think there might be diverging with the Shea Theodore rumors from Vegas.

I think since he's been paired with York, he's been better. The game in Minesota notwithstanding.

Maybe Ellis is done like @BobbyClarkeFan16 is speculating. If York rounds into his projection maybe it doesn't matter so much ?

York- Provorov

Sanhiem -Ristolainen

Player X - Attard

Does the Russian kid Zamula break through? Or is player X an trade or signee. Manson for instance.

If it turns out Ellis can play...I think that could be an effective D corps.

Even if he doesn't, that doesn't seem terrible.

First Niskanen and now Ellis...

How is this not Hextall's fault and when do we start calling the curse Wit Provy?

Another sort of forgotten one who i hope push hard to make the Flyers next season if only on the 4th line to begin with Tanner Laczysnski...

Injuries have derailed his development which seems like the Flyer's theme these days.

But you have a foward who can play all 3 positions pulling for the kid.

I can see a 4th line of Frat Boys - Lacznski Cates Allison

Chuckles has no need to bring back a Thompson or block one of these kids with Charlie Brown.

Time to play the kids and soft tank for Bedard if Chuck is smart....which we know he ain't.

The whole Toronto team is poorly constructed and has been for years. They never win anything. Marner has skill and that’s what we lack. We need to draft or acquire some skilled guys and other than the draft , I don’t see any other options. The Rangers got a Porsche in Panarin and we got a broken down station wagon in Hayes. Sometimes if the top UFA is not interested, then you should forget about option two. If you can’t get the Porsche , forget the station wagon.

This is just plain ********, have you watched the Leafs or looked at their stats or do you just go by narratives.

Historically, the Queefs have  been underachievers, have never won anything and have been one dimensional. In the modern years , all offense , no toughness, poor defense and weak goaltending.  Until they actually get past the first two rounds that will remain true . The last time the Leafs were fun to watch was when Mike Palmateer was in net

Just got back from the Colts game...5-4 OT win against the hated Knights. Foerster with the hattie! First was a nice back and forth with Haight where he just had a tap in, the second was snipe, and the third was a steal for a breakaway, 5 hole!

Also saw Briere in the concourse while I was having a beer with 3 buddies just before the game. As he was walking towards us I was going to yell "Fletcher sucks!", but instead I just said, "Hey look, it's Joe Strummer".  My friends laughed...Danny didn't.

So you get to see him play. Do you see any All star potential??

I know it is still hard to project but if i held a gun to your head where would you tell me he best ends up??

Is he only 2nd line material or is he at least a top line possibility player??

Someone said the the other day the Flyers don't have any.

On the team or coming/signing or on the way...i say that is not true.

But once they get here what is the point if they can't continue to keep these young men moving forward with their development, it more likely stumps their growth then i ask what are we doing here???

First of all he's played a handful of games after missing almost the entire season, so he's not on his "A" game yet. The Knights spent a lot of the game taking cheap shots on him, including punching him in the face when he was down on the ice. It threw him off so much he was the 1st star of the game...easily.

He's not a guy who is going to carry the play. But what you do get from him is a world class shot, both his wrister and his one timer slapshot. For a team lacking a real goal scoring threat, I think he's just what the doctor ordered. He's not Ovechkin, but he's got a hard accurate shot that he gets off fast. He's definitely got potential to play on a top line as long as he has guys who will feed him the puck. But this isn't JVR who shies away from physicality, as he proved last night. He'll go into the dirty spots.

Well they need more of that. So can he be that on the top line or second at best??

Not many can be so could he be a Backstrom??

Hell if he can even be a T.J. Oshie in my eyes that is a win all day because that guy is needed.

I meant to include this in last post. So nice to read that. Flyers have a few good pieces coming.

I just need this season to be over with to see what is going to happen a steal in the draft could be useful.

Flyer need a guy who can pick a corner.

Can never have enough of these.

And i am not posting this and complaining about the them not taking this guy but yes guys who can hit the net are needed.

They have guys i am excited about coming soon. But a lot of work still needs to be done.

We could have had him, Krebs or Newhook who went bang bang bang next 3 picks. But I doubt Caufield, for one, would stand a chance developing with the Flyers.

Here's Foersters hat trick...

Yeah he could even make the Flyers maybe instead of JVR for me.

Just watched a you tube video called Habstalk, and the rumor is Petry to Philly for JVR, Desoyners and Morin. They must be very worried that Ellis isn’t coming back in order to make this trade. Why else would we want another old guy.

Petry is not the answer.

Period.

Why would I move assets when when I could just buy him out.

I would not move Desnoyers at all.

Much less with Morin.

I keep him as my 7th.

No way they make this trade.

I they pull off this trade I will burn my Paul Holmgren jersey.
