9-0 vs 9-0

Panthers are serious this year, folks.

I know the Canes were supposed to as well, but they made quite a number of changes to their team and I question whether this new mix is really as good as the 9-0-0 record.
Panthers really do look like the now 10-0-1 team they are.

Both teams gave eventual SC winners Tampa Bay some good series, Florida in the 1st round, Carolina in the 2nd, but IMO, it was the Panthers who had the real shot to dethrone the Champs.
They seem to be a much more complete team than Carolina, and are returning with most of their same roster intact with some newer guys emerging as well.

Carolina may still be good, but to me, they are in 'prove it' mode once again after changing much of the team that played so well last season and into the playoffs.

Also of note:
Panthers won this game without their top center, Alex Barkov, and without their freight train hitting defenseman, Radko Gudas.

EDIT: Apologies...Gudas did play this game. Barkov did not.
Was thinking of the game Gudas missed just prior against Washington, also a win for Florida.
