Potential Carter destinations

I'm just thinking of teams that might be interested in Jeff Carter so I thought I would start a thread.

One team that might be interested is The NY Rangers. Sure they have a heavy load of cash dedicated to their top 4 over the next few seasons (Gaborik, Richards, Callahan, Dubinsky). But they also need a top 6 winger who can score, and Carter certainly fits the bill.

As they sit they don't have the cap space. But perhaps if they waive Wolsky, and give Anisimov and a high pick for Carter, that might do it.

How about St Louis? They certainly have the cap space to make it happen without losing a big player from their squad.

One place nobody talks about is Boston, who could fit him under the cap. Caron and Mcquaid plus possibly a pick would net Carter. The problem is that long term contract. In all likelyhood he will stay with the CBJ as nobody wants the extra years. How the mighty have fallen.....

Oddly enough, the player Carter may have benefitted most from on the Jackets was Voracek, but we all know how that worked out. The guy just needs a really good playmaker at wing, a bruiser on the other side and his numbers will come back. Don't know where that could be at his price tag, though. He might be a proper fit in Washington or Detroit with all them talented Europeens and all - price tag aside.

Rumor off another board:

Kings offered the Jackets Stoll+Bernier for Carter+Sanford. Jackets want Lotkionov, Lombardi hesitant. Deal was offered a few days ago. Columbus still mulling it over.

@hf101 Loktinov is small enough, I'm not sure he will make it long term in the NHL. One thing I can tell you, he is a special talent, truly a wizard of time and space with the puck. He operated the half wall in Windsor like no one I've ever seen. That's where I see his niche, a power play specialist. He just gets knoced off the puck to easily to be taken seriously....but I saw him do some absolute magic with the puck.....amazing passer, amazing anticiaption.
