fishbulb
We'll probably look for someone at the Trade Deadline... wondering if Konopka on Ottawa would be available. I think he's on a very cheap contract (800k) and would be available if the Sens are out.
canoli
But it's more than bringing in 1 guy don't you think? (ZK would be great, and I think his salary is only $700K)But there is something really strange in the way the Flyers struggle year after year to even break even - even. Bakanekimiwa
Clarke might have some tips you'd think?Yeah... Chop them in the ankle and they wont worry about the puck.
canoli
Well last night was pretty damn good. Giroux went 9-19 (47%) and everyone else was over 50%. Best night of the season by far.

canoli
alright. way to put a negative spin on it... you're right though of course, CBJ are a baaaad team right now.still, Vermette is no slouch in the FO circle, neither is Pahlsson.Hopefully all the FO wins aren't lost on the team and they start competing harder for them against the good teams. Especially one who is better at faceoffs, and worse at everything else.

Are you doubting that this is what'll happen?I seem to remember Primeau being good on faceoffs... what about Roenick? Is this just a "Lavvy" thing?? Maybe having Brind'amour spoiled him and he thinks that faceoffs are just something you have or haven't.
flyercanuck
LOL, I know.Personally, if we're trading anything for anything, it had better be for a defenceman. We're already up to our eyeballs in centers and of the ones we have, I'm not ready to trade any for a faceoff specialist.

Faceoffs are important but not so that I'd dedicate a roster spot for it.

fishbulb
Yeah, I'm not happy with faceoffs but isn't it a little premature to be thinking about aquisitions or trades at the deadline just over faceoff % ?All I know is that 'we' are a 'puck possession' team. And it's hard to be a puck possession team when you're chasing the puck more often than not.Something's gotta change. Either these guys dedicate themselves to get better at draws, or a hired gun has to come in.I'm not too big on having a game 7 defensive zone faceoff in OT with any of these guys at the dot.
