Howie58
The opening betting lines show us as a mild favorite (-114). It's been nearly two years since these teams have played. https://news.sportsinteraction.com/nhl/matchup/blue-jackets-vs-flyers-odds-012022-147503 Edited January 19, 2022 by Howie58

The Jake/Cam thing might be one of the few angles of interest. Losing 10 in a row twice might result in a cave-in. Losing Hayes for a month can't help. In order for that POS to have a hat trick he would actually have to shoot the puck. We all know “Jakey no likey shooty” so I’m not worried about that. A six assist game on the other hand……. mkscrewy
Jake with the gwg in the shootout: the classic soft-pass-between-the-pads ftw.
Howie58
Howdy: Sorry to disappoint, but Jake will not be playing tomorrow due to COVID protocol. I thought he was done, but that isn't the case.

Samifan
Update: Jake will be playing tonight. Wonder if he’ll pass it to Giroux tonight out of habit? 1

No he will turn it over at the blue line or skate and hold the puck forever and then get taken out on the end boards. Those are his real habits.
Howie58
Greetings: Here is the lineup: Flyers projected lines: Joel Farabee—Claude Giroux—Cam Atkinson Oskar Lindblom—Scott Laughton—Travis Konecny James van Riemsdyk—Morgan Frost—Gerald Mayhew Max Willman—Connor Bunnaman—Zack MacEwen Ivan Provorov—Justin Braun Cam York—Travis Sanheim Keith Yandle—Rasmus Ristolainen Carter Hart (Martin Jones) Well, it looks like Frost has been "promoted" to the 3rd line. Cam is a second pair (good). Yandle and Risto together. That is nearly incomprehensible. Edited January 20, 2022 by Howie58

I agree, but then again Yandle and Anyone is kind of incomprehensible. but I agree with you, putting the 2 worst defenders on the same pair? But I like the top 2 pairs those are the best combos Yeo has to work with I think. So I guess by default RR and KY are the 3rd.

Howie58
We have sunk to new lows. Holding onto sticks is now a challenge!
Howie58
Well, that is probably the game. Giving up the first goal is part of our DNA this season!
Fizz
Just got to tune in to the 3rd period. There is absolutely no structure to their game. Pee-wees play better positional hockey. Unbelievable how bad they look.
ruxpin
I blame Wayne Cashman. Or was it Craig Ramsey?
Howie58
Well, we equal Colorado's mark from 2011 and lose 10 in a row in the same season . I guess the question is whether we equal our franchise record of 12? As this piece notes, there were plenty of empty seats. https://www.espn.com/nhl/recap/_/gameId/401349840 I am happy for Mayhew. He worked hard and scored.
flyercanuck
TEN IN A ROW! TWICE, in the same season. And we actually gave up assets to get here!
SCFlyguy
Would only have been two 9-game losing streaks if Ellis were healthy.

mkscrewy
First team in the NHL to lose 10 in a row twice in the first 40 games. Ugh.
GratefulFlyers
10 in a row twice in the first half of the season. I'm not sure but I think that's a first in the NHL. Maybe just once this season the Flyers will work hard from beginning to the end. If they do they might even win a hockey game this year. Ya, but if Hayes were healthy the whole time we'd be on a 25 game losing streak.
